Chapter 192 - Source Origin(41)

Kehit was walking across the endless chain, a picture she already knew far too well, a picture that had been burned into her yellow pupils by now, a picture she could see when she closed her eyes, a side-effect of the endless light beyond the chain they constantly looked at due to the simple fact that there was nothing else to look at, something that happened to most people trapped in this place at some point, something that simply hadn't happened to Cades yet because he had never concentrated on anything, because the surrounding mana had somehow protected him.

Her eyes weren't in pain, they hadn't been for quite a long time, but still, it was weirdly silent as the three of them walked across this endless bridge between the floating islands, the anchors, the only places of respite from the endless walking, yet, the most dangerous places int his entire realm, aside from falling into the endless light beneath, the light Kehit didn't even want to begin imagining as to what could ever be beneath it, if there was something beneath at all, perhaps there was just nothing.

She looked to her left, the long cloak she was wearing shifting, the dark material tingling the eternal steel the chains may or may not be made of, after all, even after more than a decade, a decade of eternal pain and hell, in this place, she had no idea what was going on, she only had some more experience than others, and, of course, had reconciled with two other people travelling alongside her, one of which had now begun talking.

There walked a man in far-too-tight clothing, latex, and, to be honest, quite the perverted look, with endlessly big ears that covered more than just the size of his very head, no, were about one-and-a-half times as big, at least in their circumference, having weird green eyes, a mist flowing out of the ears that resembled a yellow goo Kehit knew to be residue of a magical ailment, something she only knew too well, being affected by one of those, a severe case, as well.

The man was about seven foot tall, overly muscular, a disadvantage when it came to flexibility, had a huge bow that was about as big as himself strung to his back, together with thick arrows Kehit knew to have an exorbitant piercing power, he had blonde hair, short and grotesque together with everything else, yellow teeth caused by this place, and, as previously mentioned, pale skin together with shining black latex, something she would never quite understand, or even try to understand.

That man's name, an annoying, prideful creature, was Ohrren, a name he claimed to mean as much as ear, something Kehit could indeed get behind whenever she looked at him, and whenever she heard his annoyingly high voice that sounded as if he never went through puberty, something he sadly did, something she could see whenever he made movements during a fight, almost as if flashing everyone around him.

To be honest, she was the strongest amongst the three, at least stronger than Ohrren, she wasn't entirely sure about the other guy, small, uncaring, aloof, of no concern right now, so she would have long since killed him, the other guy surely not caring either, but she knew that whatever Ohrren would now say as he used his squeaky mouse-like voice would undoubtably be quite important, and the proof as to why she hadn't thrown him into the endless light long ago, or stripped him from the clothes before, no, scratch that.

The clothes might be indestructible from what she could tell, but that was not worth it, not in the slightest, not yet, not in the current situation, she would undoubtably just kill him, decapitate him, drink his blood, throw the corpse of the chain, something she had dreamt about doing quite often lately.

His ears moved as if they were satellite dishes, slightly protruding and he smiled in a weird way that made Kehit dislike him even more than she already did, then he began to finally talk, having taken her attention and twirled it around his latex-covered finger that made her gag whenever she saw it, wishing to throw up onto the suit and perhaps make it stink even more, just less like the man inside.

"I can hear, I can hear, with my big, big, ears, like hoppers waiting for yummy food, I can hear a island, a few hundred feet away, concealed, awaiting our arrival, I can hear, hear, with my great ears, a forest of a material I know too well, I can hear a mass of coins covering the ground, glimmering as they lay flat, unmoving and still, I can hear Cadon, the material of experiences, I can hear hear with my big ear, that we are already there, I can hear, hear, so reveal yourself, oh that which I hear."

And as he said that, there was an island in front, his mouth moving in exaggerated ways as she could hear the squeaky voice within her mind, a technique instinctive to all that reached the stage of understanding and transcribing intent, a stage wildly known as a transcribe, the most apt way of explaining the feeling that came from being able to do this after all.

She hated Ohrren, no doubt about it, he was the pinnacle of what she thought of as someone she hated, when she heard the word hate, he was the first she thought off, but still, that ability he had was very useful for this place, the ability of legends, the ability to hear and pull that which he hears to where he is, however far away it might be, though he could not pull everything, it had to be special in some way from what he had told her, but she was really not interested in this guy, she simply refused to learn about how this gorilla-puppet with latex and blonde, oily, hair, worked, she would rather just throw up.
