Chapter 336 - Unknown(3)

As he fell through the realm he had not yet entirely understood colours of countless origins spieled and danced in front of his face, intent of all forms and forms that should not be forms whispered into his ears, mana in the form of violent storms made his arms hurt, but still, after a few seconds, other than when he had first arrived in the world where he had met Mangel again, the time where he had been badly hurt, taken time to heal to a rather great degree, partially bestowed by the engravings, as well as the fact that ehetrian wings tend to always recover quickly, it was led, not wild.

Arriving in a similar chamber to the one he had gone through in the beginning he felt his knees buckle, almost touching the rather dirty ground before quickly standing up and pushing open the doors, knowing there was danger if one of the other cities had anyone that wanted to travel here at the same time as he had done.

Surrounding him was a field that looked as if it had come straight out of a fever dream, giant tree-like mushrooms with light brown tops and white stilts standing everywhere, thick, an endless stream of violet ants burning in a ghostly flame walking atop them, ones Leyk had learned the hard way not to touch as they burned very hot, the ground being covered in rubble and melting iron that was no longer hot, ones danced over by the ants.

But the ants were not the beings he was after, they were barely at the third sequence, even if he had been surprised as he had first seen them, having previously thought there weren't really insects in this realm, he was after a being that looked like a deer but with it's head being a kind of octopus, the underside filled with rotating teeth powerful enough to rip stone apart, the entire being nine foot tall.

They were called Karoj, rather powerful enemy, even for scribes, but he had already killed quite a lot of them, the authority of motion really having helped him while doing it, simply pushing them onto the ground using one hand and cutting off the head using the other.

By now, according to lady Crisis, he should even be able to face a lesser titan, perhaps even a normal one if they didn't have a manifestation related to combat, something like a titan baker, she had told him there were indeed such people.

Not minding that he went and ran forward, the wind offering him little resistance as he jumped over a few ants walking the ground, each one being a few inches across, using mana sense to quickly find one of the great creatures and slay it while jumping from above, using a blade he had bought and stored under his folded clothing which he had later found out to be a kind of 'kimono hakama' when asked about it by a passer-by on the street who had seemingly been aware of the name.

The first one did not give a stone, the second one did not either, trying to run away after he had sadly spotted him to the disappointment of Leyk, their corpses quickly being devoured by the huge burning ants, one of the reasons there had never been an attempt to salvage other materials from here, resulting in this place being rather empty for the most part, the only piece of anything disturbing the peace being a great tower made of fire-resistant copper stretching over three hundred feet into the air, about sixteen feet wide, made by the city of progress to ward of the ants.

After he slew the third one he got a stone, fashioned to look like tentacles wrapped around an egg which he knew the Karoj to be born from, their brownish fur covered with yolk when they exited, though he did not know what they were formed from if the yolk was just the surrounding.

It oozed the intent of protecting, but Leyk wasn't interested in using them right now, if he wanted to have any, or any looked truly interesting he would just keep them, also he had a few in storage right now back at the place him and Avere now called as such, be it that Avere mainly just read and tinkered, both things he did also like quite a bit, it was just that Leyk preferred fighting in the arena and such, as well as bringing unneeded food onto the table.

He killed fourteen more and ended up with a total of five stones, the intended goal from the beginning, as he did most days, having been especially lucky today, the first one already having been described and vanished into the leather bag, the second one looking like a chewed on, splintering, piece of old wood with the intent to eat, the third one a tiny skull resembling a bull's with the intent to ram which Leyk assumed to be meant literally, involving a head and everything, the fourth one looking almost exactly like a normal stone with barely any intent, one that Leyk was not able to decipher, a stone that was worth over a hundred talar, an enhancement stone that enhanced a already present active if one used it while holding it, absorbing it shortly after, he already had three of them and he kept them all aside from the first which he had sadly sold to a sleazy merchant he had not found again since then, the last one looking like a eye imbedded in amber exuding the intent of looking without hurting, perhaps useful against light or underwater with poison of some kind, but not that much use visible to him.

Once again he made his way back to the warp chamber as he thought about the uniqueness of most of theses stones, though he had indeed seen a few doubles by now, having gotten one on a singular day, looking like white eggs with brown spots surrounded by black outlining, cracked all over, small hair-like apparitions hanging out of the thin cracks, the intent of escaping which he had kept for himself, partially as a souvenir.
