"Hey, you," the being muttered, tapping his fingers on the throne's armrest. "You've really been avoiding us, haven't you?"
"Who are you?" Neraxis asked warily, a bit surprised that he could now speak.
"At ease, Neraxis. We're not your enemies," the being said, standing up from the throne and slowly walking over to Neraxis.
The being didn't exactly feel foreign to him. Instead, it almost seemed like it—well, him.
Is it really me? Neraxis pondered. Maybe some kind of mind mechanism made him appear.
"You're only half right," the being stated with a chuckle. "You're correct that I am you, and that certain circumstances made me appear. However..."
As it finished its words, the being suddenly vanished from his sight.
But just a few moments later, a dozen of the same beings appeared, each one looking identical to Neraxis.
They kept expanding, but in the end, they once again merged together into the same being as earlier.
