Chapter 336 - Chapter 336: Am I Stuck in the Same Day?

The 'Blessing' isn't something everyone can possess, nor is it limited to just one per person. In fact, it's even possible for some extraordinary individuals to acquire them later in life.

Of course, some people might get a 'Blessing,' but the powers they receive could be completely useless, essentially dead weight.

After some exploration, Wood discovered that the body he was in possessed not just one but two 'Blessings,' making him a rare dual-blessed individual.

The first of Wood's blessings was the 'Knight's Glory,' which boosts willpower, recovery, and resistance after becoming an officially recognized knight.

It was a decent blessing, though rather restrictive. After all, it wasn't clear whether Wood had to be officially recognized as a knight or if he could just consider himself one.

However, Wood was far more pleased with his second blessing: 'The Moonlight Blessing.'

As the name suggests, this blessing is related to the moon and its effects are simple yet powerful.

Wherever moonlight touches, all of Wood's attributes would be enhanced to a certain degree, and he would gain immunity to some abnormal status effects.

Additionally, even if he didn't sleep during the night, he wouldn't feel tired.

Of course, once daylight arrived, all accumulated fatigue would hit him at once.

From what Wood could gather, this 'Moonlight Blessing' was among the most powerful types of blessings he had encountered. If he could become stronger under the moonlight, then night truly belonged to him…

"Regardless of what other gains this world may offer, just having the 'Moonlight Blessing' has already made this simulation worth the price."

Now, the only questions remaining were how much stronger this blessing would make him and how to fully utilize his 'Knight's Glory' blessing.

As with his previous life simulations, the body he had now couldn't compare to the one he had painstakingly forged in the world of pirates.

However, it was noticeably stronger than the one he had in the Familiar of Zero world, even matching the strength of his Mushoku Tensei self.

"It seems this body must have undergone regular training. If I practice a little, it should easily reach the level required to master the Six Powers."

Since this was a Western medieval setting, there was bound to be a kingdom and, naturally, a knight's order.

"Why not join a knight's order and make good use of my first blessing? It could elevate my status, and I might learn more about this world's powers along the way."

Having no better idea for the moment, Wood ultimately decided to head for the capital and participate in the knight's order exam.

Becoming a knight would not only allow him to tap into his first blessing but also give him the chance to encounter stronger individuals in the capital than in this remote town.

Wood was currently in the Lugnica Kingdom, on the territory of Count Roswaal L. Mathers. It would take at least several days of travel to reach the capital from the borderlands.

So, Wood rented a dragon mount for two silver coins to serve as his transportation, following the map's directions toward the capital.

Everything seemed to be going smoothly. Along the way, Wood encountered some magical beasts, which he easily dispatched.

However, just after slaying a wolf-like monster and double-checking his map, Wood suddenly felt a strong wave of dizziness hit him!

This was an experience Wood had rarely encountered before. At first, he thought it might be some form of mental attack from an unknown and powerful entity, so he quickly tried to gather his focus.

Yet, the overwhelming dizziness soon took his consciousness away. When he opened his eyes again, he was shocked.

Instead of being in the wilderness as he should have been, he found himself back on the same bustling street from earlier.

At first, Wood thought his system had malfunctioned, causing him to cross worlds again.

But when he noticed the half-eaten apple in his hand and the familiar street vendors around him, Wood realized that time had somehow been rewound by over an hour!

Initially, Wood couldn't believe something so absurd could happen. Since he didn't know much about this world, he assumed it was some kind of special mechanism.

However, when he returned to the dragon rental stall and was greeted by the enthusiastic shopkeeper, Wood was stunned. Not only had time rewound, but the memories of the people in this world had also been reset!

Even though it had only been a short while since Wood had rented a dragon, and the shopkeeper shouldn't have forgotten him, the man now acted as though he was meeting Wood for the first time. His introduction of the dragons was word-for-word the same as before!

Feeling completely baffled, Wood had no choice but to rent another dragon. To avoid repeating the same actions, he deliberately chose a different breed of dragon this time and followed a different route.

As he traveled toward the capital once more, Wood paid close attention to the time, reasoning that if the time rewind was based on some fixed mechanism, it would trigger again at the same moment.

By the time dusk arrived, and the sun had begun to set, Wood finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"It seems like the time rewind was just some random glitch. Otherwise, this world would be far too strange."

Just as Wood was about to relax, however, that familiar wave of dizziness hit him again.

"Damn it… Did I really just waste another hour?"

When he opened his eyes again, he was once more back in the same spot on the street, with the same half-eaten apple in his hand, and the same familiar shouts of street vendors around him.

"Even changing the route and the type of dragon made no difference. And no matter my physical state, everything reverts to the way it was…

What the hell is going on in this world? Could it be that this world's stage is confined to this town, and as soon as I try to leave, time rewinds to the starting point?"

This theory wasn't entirely implausible. After all, some games have boundaries. If a character crosses the border, they die, or the game resets.

To test his theory, Wood decided not to leave the town this time. Instead, he spent the evening feasting at a local tavern and then returned to his room.

But just as he lay down, that cursed dizziness hit him again!

What angered Wood the most was that he had no way to resist it. Even when he fought against the dizziness, keeping himself conscious, he still found himself back in the same place on the street.

This time, Wood didn't even attempt to leave the town, which meant his earlier assumption was wrong.

The time rewind wasn't triggered by his attempt to leave the town. To make matters worse, the time between rewinds was growing shorter!

In other words, there was no fixed time or location for when the rewind occurred—it was completely unpredictable!

"What the hell is this? Am I stuck in a 'thousands of years trapped in one day' scenario? At least in those stories, there's a fixed 24-hour loop.

But now, no matter what I do, I get thrown back to where I started!"

Including the pirate world, Wood had traveled to several different worlds now. But this was the first time he had ever encountered such an infuriating situation.

No matter what he did, or even if he did nothing, as soon as the "time rewind" effect triggered, he was sent right back to the start.

It felt as though his life was no longer his own, but something that could be controlled by someone else.

Returning to the starting point once more, Wood didn't move. Instead, he stayed where he was and calmly analyzed the situation.

Even in a different world, such an absurd mechanism shouldn't exist. If this were some kind of world rule, it would at least follow a fixed pattern.

However, after observing several times, Wood realized that the "time rewind" had no predictable timing or trigger.

Rather than being a fixed world rule, it seemed more like a personal ability—or a cheat…

The "time rewind" was a bug-like power, and calling it a cheat wasn't far off. Though this world had blessings, Wood didn't believe any of them could be this absurdly overpowered.

A power this world-breaking wouldn't belong to a native inhabitant. It was more likely the ability of a cheater—like a certain kind of person known as a "transmigrator."

"That Natsuki Subaru kid must be behind this, right? There's no one else who could be responsible..."

With this thought in mind, Wood decided it was time to test his theory by finding that transmigrator, Natsuki Subaru.

Although Subaru was weak, with no discernible aura, tracking him would be difficult. However, with his unusual outfit—a tracksuit that stood out in this world—it wouldn't be too hard to spot him in a crowd.

Wood leaped onto a high vantage point and began darting across rooftops, scanning the streets below with his sharp eyes.

After about ten minutes of searching, Wood finally spotted Subaru in an alleyway.

But before he could approach, Wood saw something shocking—Subaru was being stabbed by a group of thugs and collapsed on the ground, dead.

"Guess I was wrong after all. If that kid really had a 'time rewind' cheat ability, there's no way he'd die such a pathetic death..."

Watching Subaru bleed out, Wood realized there was no way he could save him in time.

However, just as Wood was about to dismiss his earlier theory, the same wave of dizziness hit him once more!

Subaru woke up in a daze, clutching the spot where he had been stabbed. Realizing he had returned to the starting point again, he felt both relief and a deep sense of helplessness.

There was no doubt about it now—Subaru's ability as a transmigrator was indeed "time rewind," also known as his cheat.

At first, Subaru had been thrilled to have such an incredible power.

But after using it a few times, Subaru quickly realized how frustratingly useless it was!
