Zephyra's POV
I stared at myself in the mirror one last time, and my reflection looked... well, normal. I no longer had glowing red eyes at all, and looking into the mirror, I was no longer seeing shadowy figures lurking in the corners. It was just me, tired, and emotionally wrecked me.
Astraea had fixed my eyes earlier, surprisingly using her words and then some kind of weird demon magic that made my head spin and my skin tingle like I was touching electricity, but it worked.
I could finally look around without seeing the twisted truth behind everything. The world looked normal again, normal enough for me to finally go home.
I hadn't told Astraea yet, or Draven. I figured I'd just pack up, catch a ride, and slip away quietly. It wasn't like they'd stop me, okay, maybe Astraea would, but I was hoping to be out the door before she realized I was leaving.
