Still, they were so confident that they had stationed so many, so many Awakened troops there, all armed to the teeth with top-of-the-line magical weaponry. It was not at all an inexpensive investment, even for a national military force.
However, the opponent was so strong, strong enough to have killed the very person who was believed to be the first to clear the entirety of the Tower.
And so, some troops; wasn't it strange for there to be no more than that?
A helicopter―two, perhaps, or maybe a military fighter jet. Even a single tank, or just a large bomb on standby. When combined with the might of magic, they were all the most recent of military advancements, after all, not to mention most impactful.
The truth was, it was an excessive cost... But in the first place, none of it was necessary.
