Garlic butter steak bites and roasted butternut squash with thyme—Ruediger's request to Lariette. Their first destination before going back to the apartment was the grocery store.
"Why are you smiling like that? You look kinda suspicious."
Lariette narrowed her eyes upon seeing the mischievous smile on Ruediger's lips. The man replied with a smirk, followed by a wink. They had just stepped inside the store.
"I can't wait to try your cooking tonight. You won't set the kitchen on fire, right?"
Lariette immediately shot Ruediger a look. She exclaimed in a mock offense, "Excuse me? You have seen me cook before, haven't you? Did I set the stove on fire?"
Laughter spilled from Ruediger's lips, softening his rough facial features. Lariette pretended to huff before nudging his elbow once, causing him to laugh more.
"Get me a trolley."
