The next morning, Lariette was stirred awake by the warm and buttery scent drifting in the air. Letting out a groan, she tossed and turned on the bed as drowsiness still clung to her.

'Why it smells more yummy?'
Rubbing her eyes, Lariette pushed the blanket aside before sitting up. Through her blurry gaze, she saw the morning rays slip lazily through the curtains, casting soft stripes of gold across the room.
The wall clock pointed to a quarter to eight. Being a morning person, she often woke up around this time even during the weekends.
'Ah, right. Eddy...'
When the memory of last night resurfaced in Lariette's mind, a quiet and inexplicable happiness fluttered through her heart. She also remembered the hearty and lovely breakfast he promised to prepare this morning.
