Chapter 359 - Feels Weird Without Him Here

The unyielding confidence in his voice made her beam. Even though she knew close to nothing about what his plans were, her trust in him was unwavering.

"Then, will you... ah, my order's here. Wait a second."

Lariette ceased talking when her order was called. Rising to her feet, she thanked the staff behind the counter while taking the warm bag and stepped outside.

"Eddy, I'm walking now," she smiled, the yellow light of the streetlamps showered upon her face, "Didn't you say you're going to have dinner? Don't let me keep you here."

Lariette didn't get to ask Ruediger what was on her mind, but it was alright. They could talk again later.

She knew he had been very busy. He should eat and then rest before another long day began tomorrow.

"It's fine. Let's talk until you reach home," he said, voice quiet and affectionate, "I wish I could walk with you."

"Hehe, it feels weird going home alone," she chuckled, "I'm holding a takeout bag and my phone instead of your hand."
