Its body was covered in pale blue scales that glinted like ice crystals and mane flowing like frozen mist. A single curved horn jutted from its forehead, etched with natural runes that tinged softly.
Its eyes locked onto Victor without hostility.
Victor didn't draw his sword... instead he bowed slightly.
"I need your horn," he said plainly. "But I don't want to kill you if I don't have to."
The Qilin snorted and then it moved.
In an instant, frost qi exploded outward. The ground froze solid in a widening radius, ice spikes erupting upward as the Qilin charged. Its speed was incredible with its hooves barely touching the ground as it closed the distance.
Knowing that Ascendant Realms was a real place and not a game world, Victor wanted to give the beast a chance to survive but since that wasn't an option...
"So be it," Victor murmured.
He stepped forward instead of back.
Their clash sent shockwaves rippling across the mountainside.
