Jacob's Call.
Selina had meant to hang up, but her finger accidentally hit the answer button. Before she could react, Jacob's voice came through the phone.
"Selina, why aren't you in your room?"
His tone was laced with mockery—or maybe amusement. It was as if he already knew exactly where she was. He chuckled lowly, "Let me guess… You're in bed with your 'uncle' right now, aren't you?"
Selina's eyes narrowed. "What are you trying to do?"
"Don't blame me," Jacob said with a shrug in his voice, cold and casual. "I have a keycard to your room. I just wanted to invite you to breakfast. But surprise, surprise… no Selina inside. Oh, and—"
His voice turned sharper with implication. "Last night, quite a few of us saw 'Mrs. Reid' arguing with Logan. I kindly arranged a new guest room for her. She's awake now, and she's looking for me to thank me."
