There were peonies everywhere - Kai's doing.
These wild, untamed bursts of pink and white flowers tangled around the wedding venue, and ivy snaking up chairs. And there were no aisles, just winding paths through the flowers.
"So no one knows where I'm coming from," she'd grinned when I asked her. It was uniquely Kai-like.
I stood beneath an oak tree that the twins had insisted on helping to decorate in fairy lights, as my jaw remained tight.
I adjusted my suit for the tenth time. It was my most memorable day, yet I was disturbed.
Ryder found her. It was the truth. It didn't matter what I did. I tore apart kingdoms and raised hell… yet I was still useless.
Just like with Lala, when she vanished without a trace. I couldn't find her, and when Kai disappeared, I couldn't find her either.
