Louis walked alone through a world where memories died.

It was not night — night had stars, had dreams, had shadows cast by something real.

This place was darker than that. It was a void of erasure, where every step he took seemed to wipe more of his past from existence, like names being scrubbed from a whiteboard with trembling hands.

The air shimmered with half-formed echoes. A laugh here. A tear there. Voices not gone, but fading — like whispers being drowned by an ocean of silence.

He was a speck of light, a flicker in a realm of deep contrast, his soul the only ember refusing to go out.

But that ember flickered.

"Louis… this isn't courage. This is madness."

Ellie's voice rang in his mind, clear and furious, alive even here.

She had clutched his wrist so tightly before he left, her mismatched eyes rimmed with fear.

"You're trying to anchor a being that doesn't even belong in this reality! Even the angels fear Oblivion — what makes you think—"
