Liam still had a few minutes of walking ahead of him to reach The Raven's Nest. The path was anything but straightforward. Directly ahead lay a broken, abandoned flyover, its structure twisted and crumbling from a portal explosion that had torn through its center. Below it sprawled the abandoned part of the city, now mostly ruins, teeming with shadows that hinted at unseen dangers.
Activating his shadow vision and merging it with his Qi sense, Liam scanned the area below. Dozens of monsters lurked in the darkness, their forms barely discernible even to his enhanced senses. He muttered under his breath, "I'll deal with them when I get back."
