Angelica looked deep into his eyes. Into his dark chestnut and she found herself annoyed, irritated and violent at the same time. Yet, she also felt helpless and misunderstood.
"Tell me, I want to know, I need to know," his voice became softer.
"Why do you need to know? Why exactly? What will knowing to to you? Why is it so important?" she asked.
Ian could see her eyes darting over different parts of his face. To him it was a sign of nervousness, lies and reluctance to conform to his wishes, all he wanted was that she answer him. He was sure it was the first and third option.
"Because, if I can quickly notice the change in your behaviour to me, then anyone else can see the same," he said.
She scoffed, of course, the maid reason was because of his reputation. What else did she expect.
