Angelica was far too in a bad mood to listen to her mother. She was more fixed on Ian and his shenanigans and the ploys he was playing. He painted himself in a good light while she was the cold one. To add to that, she definitely did not agree with his preference of dresses. They were far too provocative in her opinion.
