The light emanating from Léana's body suddenly intensified. It became almost blinding. Everyone instinctively stepped back, eyes wide.
The body began to change.
Léana's light brown hair gradually lightened, passing through golden reflections until it became a luminous blond. The features of her face softened, her eyelashes lengthened, the shape of her eyes and jaw transformed subtly. Her silhouette itself seemed to rejuvenate, losing the marks of time and suffering. Even the open wound on her chest gradually closed, leaving the skin smooth and intact. The blood and stains on her clothes disappeared as if absorbed by the magic.
When the light finally faded, an absolute silence fell over the group.
The person lying there was no longer Léana.
It was Katrina.
But not the Katrina they had known. It was a young version, about eighteen years old, with a soft face and regular breathing, as if she were sleeping peacefully.
