After the parents went to bed, the rest of us stayed behind in the living room. The tension from earlier had finally eased, and for the first time all night, things felt… normal. Or, at least, as normal as they could be, given the circumstances.
Nancy, of course, was the one to break the comfortable silence. She sat forward, her eyes practically glowing with excitement as she grinned at all of us.
"Well, since we're all couples now—" she made a dramatic gesture around the room, "how about we tell everyone how we got together?"
I blinked at her. Was she serious?
Alex groaned immediately. "Oh my god. What is this, a middle school sleepover?"
Nancy scowled at him. "Oh, come on! It'll be fun!"
Malakai, who had been lazily lounging next to Alex, smirked and nudged him. "Yeah, Alex. Let's hear it. Why don't you go first?"
