Eryndor left the chamber with the words from the ledger still circling in his mind.
The reset had happened, memories had survived, and identity had been lost. He had taken the ledger, though carrying it away explained nothing.
The corridor continued for some distance before changing again.
The doors disappeared, the ceiling descended, and a current of air brushed against his face.
Eryndor stopped immediately. Nothing in the rooms behind him had suggested any connection to the outside, but this air carried a faint smell of damp earth.
He hurried forward until the corridor ended at a wide opening.
Beyond it waited the same unnatural darkness he had crossed when he entered the hall.
His Spatial Sight reached through it and found a pale opening in the distance, with uneven ground and vegetation beyond.
If it was an exit, it would only take him out of the building, but he welcomed the possibility.
