"Are you leaving already?" Xander asked when he noticed Varon making his way toward him.
Xander was seated out front of his house, a bottle on the table and a glass in his hand. He knew that whenever his best friend was leaving—which was almost always after rituals and celebrations—he would drop by to say goodbye.
"No," Varon replied as he got to the table. He sat down on the empty seat right next to Xander.
"I thought you would leave immediately after the celebration. Or are you waiting for the total end of the Solstice?" Xander asked, raising his glass to his lips.
"Neither," Varon said, as he stared into nothing. "I think I will be here for some time… maybe longer than I have ever been in ages."
"Selene?" Xander asked, and Varon nodded his head in agreement.
Xander knew that only Selene could make Varon change his rules. He adored the princess with his whole heart.
