As the train vanished into the distance, Lu Jinchen remained rooted to the spot, his gaze fixed on the empty tracks. The breeze tugged gently at his coat, but he didn't move. His chest rose and fell with a quiet heaviness only he could feel.
"I am already missing you, Yuqing," he whispered to himself, his voice barely audible. "Once this is all over, I am never letting you out of my sight, ever."
It was a promise. To her, to himself, to the part of his heart that already ached from her absence. He stood there for another moment, collecting his thoughts. Then, with a soft sigh, he turned around to leave.
But just as he had barely taken two steps, a sudden wave of dizziness crashed over him. His vision blurred and his legs buckled. The world around him spun violently.
