Chapter 67 - Chapter 67: Welt Yang

Afterward, the three of them went to see Mei and Kika, and on the way, Ryn told Bronya what happened in the Sea of Quanta. Only after Ryn repeatedly assured Bronya that Seele was fine did she finally give up on the idea of running to the Sea of Quanta right away.

It was a pity that Ryn couldn't freely open a passage to the Sea of Quanta yet. Although connecting to the Imaginary Space gave him nearly infinite Honkai energy, it wasn't something he could use at will. Just like in an online game, being a Herrscher meant having infinite mana regeneration, not an infinite mana pool.

Nighttime. Ryn arrived at the dormitory the academy assigned him. It was less of a dorm and more of a small villa. St. Freya High School only had a few hundred students, but the campus was astonishingly large.

All the facilities in the academy were the best in the world, even the student accommodations were top-notch, and most importantly, they didn't charge students any fees.

That jerk Himeko said that even though he and Kiana had a good relationship, they had to be mindful of the school's reputation. How could a group of girls sleep together with one boy!

Ryn retorted to Himeko that he only slept with Kiana; the others were just living together!

As a result, Himeko shook her head and said that was even more unacceptable; it wouldn't be good to have a baby so soon. Then she took Ryn to the history teacher's place and had him stay with him.

"Damn it, I'm not that much of a beast. But Kiana will be 16 soon, I'm going to drink Kiana's sweet juice!" Ryn muttered as he pushed open the dormitory door, where the history teacher, Welt, was waiting for him.

Welt adjusted his glasses and extended a hand towards Ryn.

"Young people these days are really wild, but make sure to use protection. Hello, I'm Welt."

Being overheard by a teacher, Ryn was extremely embarrassed and shook Welt's hand with a red face.

"Huh? You... you're a Herrscher too?"

Welt and Ryn said in unison, and in the next second, both assumed a combat stance.

"The Herrscher of Reason? Theresa said she was arranging a roommate for me, I didn't expect it to be a Herrscher."

Welt formed a black sphere in his hand. One look and Ryn knew it was a phenomenon created by gravity devouring light, which meant the other party could also control gravity. A Herrscher who controls gravity... that must mean he's the Sovereign of Anti-Entropy.

Ryn raised his hands, mimicking Welt by forming a pseudo-black hole in each hand, and faced off against him.

"I also didn't expect the esteemed Sovereign of Anti-Entropy to be hiding in St. Freya High School as an ordinary teacher. What are you planning? What is Anti-Entropy planning!"

"Right now, I only represent myself. I left Anti-Entropy a long time ago. Ryn, I mean no harm. We can sit down and talk." Welt was the first to dissipate the black sphere in his hand, raising his hands to show he was surrendering. "The commotion caused by the Hyperion's departure for Nagazora City yesterday was quite significant. I learned that Himeko and the others brought back a Herrscher. Since Theresa arranged for you to be with me, it means she trusts you. We are not enemies, Ryn."

"That depends on whether you can convince me."

Ryn retracted the two pseudo-black holes in his hands. Anyway, he had just learned that move from Welt; his real attack was something else. The moment he sensed Welt was also a Herrscher, he had already covered the entire villa with a gravity field.

If Welt dared to attack, Ryn would compress the entire area into a gravitational singularity. Although Welt could also play with gravity, he relied on external forces to manipulate it, unlike Ryn who could do it as he pleased. If Ryn were to attack, he would definitely be fine, but it was hard to say for Welt.

Originally, Ryn was feeling a little smug, but Welt's next words delivered a harsh slap to his face.

"You should retract the gravity field outside too. The space inside this room is my domain. We are both Herrschers; you cannot directly control the Honkai energy within my domain, so trying to finish me off directly with your authority is impossible. Battles between Herrschers are fought by using our authority to affect physical objects. For example, you can throw a black hole at me or strike me with lightning, but you can't directly turn me into a black hole or a bolt of lightning."

"Ah, this..."

"You still have a long way to go. Come, have a seat. We can discuss these things slowly." Welt sat down on the sofa, gesturing for Ryn to join him.

Welt wasn't angry at Ryn's actions. He just considered him a nascent Herrscher who didn't know any better. But as long as Ryn was also fighting for humanity, he wouldn't be stingy with his teachings.

"I have something very important that I must do here. It is something crucial to defeating the Honkai. I'm sorry, I can't tell you what it is, because Otto would certainly not allow its existence. But once it is completed, humanity will make great strides in the fight against Herrschers and the Honkai.

However, I will not harm anyone at St. Freya High School, you can rest assured on that point. I need you to temporarily keep my identity as the Anti-Entropy Sovereign a secret. As compensation, I will teach you some techniques for using gravity."

"Can you guarantee that you won't harm St. Freya High School or damage Schicksal?"

"I can guarantee it."

"Alright then, I'll help you keep it a secret for a little while."

Ryn nodded. Otto also had a high opinion of Welt, and he himself knew some of the deeds of the Herrscher of Reason. For someone who constantly dedicated himself to fighting the Honkai, Ryn felt he could be given some trust.

"Good. You can come and ask me anything. As long as I know it and am able to say it, I can tell you."

Welt was overjoyed. As long as Ryn didn't expose him, Otto wouldn't find out he was here, and he could continue building the Moonlight Throne. Otto had already destroyed the Moonlight Throne once; he couldn't let him destroy it again this time.

Unfortunately, his body was already falling apart. Using the authority of the Herrscher of Reason was a great burden on him... If only he could use it as freely as Joyce did, he would have surely completed several Moonlight Thrones by now... It seems he really was unworthy of being the Herrscher of Reason...

Ryn sipped the coffee Welt handed him, savoring it slowly. Then, as if he suddenly remembered something, he said to Welt, "By the way, I'm not the Herrscher of Thunder. There's another Herrscher in the academy. Besides convincing me, you'll have to convince her too."

"Huh?!"

Welt was shocked for a moment, then nodded at Ryn without saying anything more.

Welt had thought Ryn possessed two authorities, one controlling electromagnetism and one controlling gravity, since previous intelligence had already confirmed the Herrscher of Thunder's authority was the manipulation of electromagnetism. He hadn't expected there to be two Herrschers. That would explain it much better, but what the hell!

Welt Yang's head was about to split open. He wasn't good at persuasion. The last time he negotiated with Sirin, he turned her desire for revenge against the people of the Tower of Babylon into a desire to destroy all of humanity. He had only managed to resolve this situation smoothly because Ryn was easy to talk to. How was he going to deal with the Herrscher of Thunder now...
