Chapter 15 - Art Of Insanity

Divine Rant Activated

---

I'm shocked.

What happened today was too cool, I mean cruel.

They looked like they've seen that much cruelty for a really good amount of time.

The Art of Insanity is truly terrifying.

That human Xu Lianhua...

No. She doesn't even deserve to be called human.

That demon Xu Lianhua, taking a life just because she wants me to pay three times the original price.

Tch!

She thinks she can rival me as the "Supreme Miser."

As a god, I'm tasked to all eliminate despicable beings.

If this is truly the Art of Insanity, does this mean I have an entire realm to annihilate?

Woah! That's going to be tedious.

Anyways, why do I have a feeling that she didn't just kill her to salvage the tea incident?

Lisa or was it Lina was about to say something important before she was sent on her path.

Also that Qingling, acting like she's some renowned teacher.

"The customer is always right."

Total nonsense.

Tch! Whatever.

I'll gather more clues tomorrow.

Divine Rant Deactivated

---

Long Xiao sighed.

"Lei," Long Xiao scowled. "You left without my permission again."

"I'm sorry, Master. I thought your discussion with the innkeeper would be... important." Lei bowed his head in deference.

"Don't talk about her." Long Xiao rasped.

"Master, you look disturbed. Do you want a massage? And maybe you could tell me what's wrong if you want." Lei suggested, his eyes sparkling with eagerness as he transformed from his celestial form into human.

"Don't bother." Long Xiao waved his hand dismissively.

"However, I can tell you what's bothering me." Long Xiao's hardened eyes softened a bit.

Lei's eyes gleamed with happiness and satisfaction as he sat on the ground as he faced his master eagerly. Long Xiao leaned forward as his lips parted lightly.

"Lei, my unfortunate mount. Too bad you missed today's glorious event unfold. You should have been present to witness something that...something that," He paused, searching for the right word.

"Great!" he exclaimed as he found it.

"What, Master? Please don't leave me in suspense again." Lei leaned forward with pleading eyes.

"Come closer." Long Xiao grinned.

Lei nodded, shifting himself closer to the bed.

"Go to sleep, nosy bird." He knocked Lei's head.

"Ouch Master." Lei flinched, retreating into his celestial self for comfort.

"That's your punishment for leaving the inn without my permission." Long Xiao laughed as he settled into the bed.

As he faced the ceiling, he anticipated how tomorrow would be. He also thought of the Heavenly Realm. About his friends, Goddess Ling Xing and the patients.

"They won't be able to survive without me." He muttered, a chuckle escaping his lips as his eyes closed.

At Ling Mountain

---

The four gods watched the numerous events of Long Xiao's journey unfold through the glowing orb which Lord Zhao had enlarged for a better view.

The orb shimmered, replaying their dramatic flight, to the bloody and dramatic display at the inn. Lina's death, the silence, the bracelet clamped onto Long Xiao's wrist. All these unfolded in high definition divine clarity.

"I told you guys he'd throw the dice." Lord Zhao smiled in triumph as his prediction of Long Xiao throwing a dice came through.

"Hah! And I told you guys that he'd definitely go to the most chaotic realm." Lord Bai flipped his blue hair back as he saw the interesting results of Long Xiao's chaotic decision unfold before him.

"The little girl... She disappeared without a trace after speaking to Long Xiao. Neither of us saw her departure. What sort of being do you think she is?" Lord Han's expression turned contemplative.

"I don't know about her, however I do know that those robes A Xiao wore earlier were despicable. Were those... a commoner's robes? No. They don't even qualify to be called 'robes'." Lord Luo Feng snorted.

"Why did A Xiao lay in bed for three days? It almost looked like he was...unconscious." Lord Zhao leaned in his chair.

"Yes. Now that you mention it, it does look like he wasn't laying in bed on purpose to frighten Lei. What do you think happened?" Lord Bai's grin disappeared.

"I don't know... But what I do know is that the Mortal Realm is more dangerous than we thought. Perhaps we should go and bring him back." Lord Han suggested.

"You say dangerous, I say glorious." Luo Feng grinned.

"I guess he wants us to address the elephant in the room." Lord Zhao leaned forward, stroking his nonexistent beard with a solemn face.

"You mean what happened in the inn?" Lord Han hesitated.

"Exactly." Luo Feng's grin widened. "Isn't that one of the coolest exits you've ever seen?

"I hate to say this but he's right. That innkeeper is more than meets the eye." Lord Han agreed.

"Yes. That mortal who was sacrificed had it coming. Although I don't know what they spoke about, what I do know is that she ended her gracefully.

I made a quick painting of the glorious scene for five." Lord Zhao wore a proud smile as he showed off a detailed painting of Lianhua twirling her dagger. It displayed the motion of how the curved dagger sent Lina to her ancestors perfectly.

"When did you even paint this, Brother Zhao?" Lord Bai chuckled as he reached for a copy but his hand was stopped by Lord Zhao.

"No freebies for a painting with such high quality." Lord Zhao grinned as he hid the paintings away. "Only one hundred merits for a copy."

"Hundred merits? What a cheat!" Lord Bai rolled his eyes as he pulled back his hand.

Luo Feng transferred a hundred merits into Lord Zhao's account. "A copy please." He wore a smug smile.

"Always a pleasure doing business with you Brother Feng." Lord Zhao brought out a copy, handing it gently to Luo Feng.

"Guys, painting is not the main topic." Lord Han sighed.

"Fine. I'll buy." Lord Bai gritted his teeth as he transferred the merits into Lord Zhao's account against his will.

The orb flickered, showing Long Xiao laying peacefully in bed.
