Chapter 249 - Chapter 249

Tsunade rested her chin on her hands, her expression calm as she said, "Not worried, why?"

Danzo had initially thought that his words would make Tsunade more cautious, but to his surprise, she looked completely indifferent.

Seeing Tsunade's attitude, Danzo turned to the two Hokage advisors, "Aren't you going to correct her?"

The two advisors merely replied blandly, "What's there to worry about?" Danzo was dumbfounded. It was one thing for Tsunade to have this attitude, but why were these two acting the same way?

He knew that although these two were part of the Hokage's faction, they were his contemporaries. In matters like this, they should be on his side.

Why were they now opposing him? "The power we just witnessed could easily destroy Konoha. You're just going to let them wield that power? And there's someone who can use Wood Style. If you don't control such dangerous individuals, when Konoha is destroyed, you'll be the village's sinners."

To the others, Danzo's words seemed completely senseless. Tsunade chuckled wryly, "I must have overestimated your intelligence. I thought you managed to control the Foundation because of your wisdom." "Now it seems it was merely the Third Hokage's mercy."

Danzo frowned, deeply angered by Tsunade's assessment. "Tsunade, what are you trying to say?" Tsunade leaned back in her chair, her voice cold, "Do you think anyone in our village can control him? Since you were once a subordinate of the Second Hokage, you should know the power of the First Hokage."

"How can you suggest controlling someone with the same power as the First Hokage?" "Are you going to control him, or should I?" "You're really getting senile."

Danzo's old face couldn't hold back anymore after Tsunade's continuous jabs. He retorted angrily, "So you're just going to watch as such a person threatens Konoha?" Tsunade rolled her eyes at him, clearly unwilling to continue the conversation.

"You should just go home, enjoy your old age, and stop causing trouble for the village." Danzo wanted to argue further, but the two Hokage advisors approached him, saying,

"Enough, Danzo. You shouldn't get involved in this matter. Stop embarrassing our generation." With that, the two left, ignoring Danzo.

Danzo was furious, but seeing that Tsunade had completely dismissed him, he had no face to stay any longer. However, he was determined to find the ninja who wielded Wood Style. Naturally, his goal was to control that person.

That's just how Danzo was. In the past, his contemporary was the Third Hokage, and the Third's excessive mercy led to Danzo being given too much leeway.

This made Danzo think he could still stir up trouble as he did in the past. Even without considering Yoruha, just Sasuke and Naruto alone were beyond what Konoha could control now.

Especially Sasuke. Sasuke's current strength definitely surpassed Itachi Uchiha's. The only reason he hadn't gone to kill him yet was simply because he didn't have the time.

Sasuke wasn't as extreme now; he not only wanted to avenge his clan but also needed to build a future for Sakura and their future children. Even Jiraiya couldn't be Sasuke's match at this point.

Let alone Tsunade.

It's only natural that Yoruha wouldn't do anything outrageous.

With him keeping things in check, as long as nothing happens to him, the Hidden Leaf Village won't face any major disturbances. Tsunade certainly isn't worried about Sasuke and Naruto betraying the village.

As long as Yoruha remains loyal to the Leaf, everything will be fine. Besides, Yoruha currently has no reason to betray the village. If he truly wanted to, who in the entire ninja world could stop him?

The fact that Danzo even thought about controlling Yoruha is laughable. After Danzo left, Tsunade sighed, "How did the Third Hokage manage to work with that old guy for so many years?" She was at a loss for words.

Jiraiya also disliked Danzo, and said helplessly, "That's just his nature, even darker than Orochimaru." After a test, the people of the Leaf Village understood just how strong their village was.

They knew they had a ninja as powerful as the First Hokage protecting them.

They were also deeply impressed by the power of Sasuke's Susanoo. While Wood Release was indeed miraculous, the strength of Sasuke's Susanoo left the Leaf's ninjas in awe. Sasuke was already popular in the village.

Now, his popularity was through the roof. People didn't know who was using Wood Release, but they certainly knew who was wielding Susanoo. Meanwhile, Naruto's status as the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki was no longer a source of disdain among the villagers.

After all, whether it was Susanoo or Wood Release, both could ensure that Naruto could be quickly controlled if he ever lost control. That battle had proven it. In the face of Wood Release, even the Nine-Tails could be easily suppressed.

Naturally, no one worried about Naruto going berserk anymore. In fact, after the Chunin Exams, the villagers no longer disliked Naruto as much as before. He had proven that he wasn't just a prankster, but also a powerful ninja.

Just like in the original story, after Naruto defeated Neji in the Chunin Exams, the villagers cheered for him, not booing him because of his Jinchuriki status.

Now, he posed no threat and had become an important asset to the Leaf Village, so the villagers had no reason to dislike him.

After returning to the Leaf, Naruto had to catch up on three years' worth of missions, especially to raise his ninja rank, so he rejoined Team 7 and started taking on missions with Kakashi.

In the following months, Naruto went on a mission spree, especially high-ranking ones. By now, all his classmates had at least reached Chunin rank, leaving him as the only Genin.

This was something Naruto couldn't stand. It was during these months that the Akatsuki finally began capturing the Tailed Beasts. Their first target was Gaara of the Sand Village.

Just like in the original story, Gaara was defeated by Deidara and captured. The Sand Village requested aid from the Leaf Village. Tsunade dispatched Kakashi's team, and for extra assurance, she also sent Guy's team as backup.

Because the opponents were the infamous Akatsuki, Tsunade was very cautious. However, with Yoruha backing them up, she wasn't as worried as in the original story. During this mission, Sasuke encountered a clone of Itachi Uchiha.

The battle between them ended in just one round. The clone only had thirty percent of Itachi's chakra, so it stood no chance against Sasuke and was defeated in a single move. Deidara almost got killed by Sasuke as well.

If he hadn't escaped using his clay bird, Sasuke would have taken him down with a single strike. Unlike in the original story, Sakura, Naruto, and Chiyo managed to take down Sasori of the Red Sand together.

With Naruto's involvement and Sakura being stronger than she was at this point in the original story, Sasori was defeated in less than an hour.

The strength of Naruto and Sakura left Granny Chiyo in awe, marveling at the current power of the Leaf Village.
