Chapter 279 - Chapter 279

Moryo couldn't break the seal on its physical body with its own soul power. However, Shion could undo it.

What Shion didn't know was that the power of a priestess is incredibly strong, and she, in particular, was exceptionally powerful, the strongest among all the priestesses throughout history.

But that power was sealed by her mother. Because that power had already surpassed Moryo's, Shion's mother feared that her power might bring disaster,

potentially plunging the world into a crisis even more terrifying than Moryo's rampage. Naturally, Yoruha could see this clearly.

Shion's power was sealed within her. If that power were fully unleashed, it would be no less than the chakra of the Nine-Tails.

However, Yoruha wasn't interested in that power; it held no value for him. But if that power were to be controlled by another ninja village, it would indeed be a significant advantage.

It's just that Shion's mother didn't train her from a young age to control that power for combat. If she had been properly trained, Shion's current strength wouldn't be inferior to a Kage-level ninja. And that's the worst-case scenario.

If trained well, Shion's potential would definitely be that of a super Kage-level powerhouse. However, it seemed Shion's mother didn't want her to become such a powerful figure, and Yoruha could understand that.

The Land of Demons is a small country; as long as the threat of Moryo exists, the Five Great Nations wouldn't have any designs on it. Of course, the Land of Demons didn't have much value to begin with.

But if they knew Shion possessed power on par with the Nine-Tails, she would become a thorn in the side of the Five Great Nations.

Her mother sealed her power to prevent it from being used by others. Moryo had the power to overturn the world, and Shion's power was even above that. If she wanted to overturn the world, it would be less difficult.

If she were to join forces with Moryo, it would be unimaginable. Originally, Moryo and the priestess were one entity, and if the priestess and Moryo weren't careful, they could be devoured by each other.

Previously, Shion's mother sacrificed her life to seal Moryo, meaning her body, along with Moryo's, was sealed together.

Shion's mother probably hoped that Shion would never have to use the priestess's power in her lifetime. Unfortunately, there are always ambitious people who want to release such a demon as Moryo.

At this moment, outside the volcano, the terracotta warriors of the Immortal Army had surrounded the area, blocking anyone who wanted to enter the volcano.

Yomi walked into the altar where Moryo's body was sealed and sat down. His lifespan was about to run out; Moryo's power was too strong, and his body couldn't sustain it for much longer.

The reason Moryo was waiting here was that it knew Shion would definitely come to seal it.

And as soon as she entered, activating the seal, the sealing formation here would activate. At that time, Moryo and Shion would have to devour each other, and only the winner could leave.

However, Moryo didn't know that Shion's power surpassed its own. It thought Shion's power was similar to her mother's.

If Shion truly wanted to devour Moryo, the result would be Moryo being devoured.

The premise is that Shion wants to seal Moryo; if she doesn't have this intention, she might be devoured by Moryo.

At this moment, Moryo's Immortal Army had already spread across the world.

The Five Great Nations were all resisting the attacks of the Immortal Army.

The terracotta warriors of the undead legion were completely devoid of life and death; once damaged, they would quickly regenerate.

Their ability was incredibly troublesome. Unless Moryo was sealed away, it was impossible to halt the advance of the undead legion.

The next morning, while everyone was still asleep, Yoruha's figure appeared in Shion's room.

Awakened by Yoruha, Shion was startled, thinking he had some ill intentions. Seeing Shion's frightened expression, Yoruha was a bit speechless. He whispered, "Lady Priestess, it's time for us to leave."

Shion looked at the sky outside, which was still dark and not yet dawn. "Now?" Shion asked, puzzled.

Yoruha thought for a moment and said, "Yes, now. We won't be taking Temari and the others; it's too much trouble." "But~" Shion was a bit scared, as Yoruha's behavior seemed strange. Yoruha actually found it too troublesome to bring Temari and the others along.

But he couldn't say it outright. Yoruha thought for a moment and said, "You must have noticed yesterday that having them around puts a lot of pressure on me." Shion paused, looking into Yoruha's clear eyes, and chose to trust him.

"Alright, then." Once Shion agreed, Yoruha immediately used his space-time ninjutsu.

Shion felt a blur before her eyes, and in the next moment, she found herself in a volcano. A wave of heat hit her, startling Shion, who instinctively grabbed Yoruha's arm.

Yoruha, on the other hand, looked towards Yomi, who was resting on the altar. Yomi had sensed Shion's presence, but their sudden appearance felt eerie to him.

He opened his eyes and looked towards Yoruha. "Is this generation's priestess? How did she appear so suddenly, without any warning?"

Indeed, Shion and Yoruha's appearance was too strange, and he hadn't sensed anything at all. Hearing this, Shion also looked over at Yomi.

Due to her priestess abilities to sense Moryo's power, she immediately recognized that the person before her was Moryo, or at least that Moryo's soul was hidden within him.

Shion was shocked and turned to Yoruha, wanting to ask what was going on. She had just been in the Land of Demons, so how did she suddenly appear here with Moryo?

Yoruha, understanding Shion's confusion, explained, "I use space-time ninjutsu. We are now in the Land of Swamps, where Moryo's body is sealed."

Of course, Shion knew this. She had been practicing sealing techniques, and this altar was where Moryo was sealed. She had seen it countless times during her training.

However, the Land of Demons and the Land of Swamps were separated by over a thousand kilometers, with several countries in between.

Yet Yoruha had brought her from the Land of Demons to the Land of Swamps in an instant.

Yoruha must be incredibly powerful; such space-time ninjutsu was beyond belief, and it seemed Yoruha had done nothing. She hadn't even seen him form any hand seals. Yoruha's strength exceeded her previous expectations.

Shion felt even more confident. Yoruha said, "Lady Priestess, you can now go and seal that guy. He shouldn't be able to break the seal set by the previous priestess, so he's been waiting there." Shion nodded.

She was surprised that Yoruha knew so much about the priestess's seal. Shion walked towards the altar.

Yomi did not stop her; although he didn't know how Shion had appeared there, he needed her to activate the altar.

Only after activating it could he devour Shion and break the seal of the previous priestess.

Looking at Yomi, Shion was still a bit scared. Although she had practiced countless times, when it came to actually doing it, she felt uncertain. Beneath her was a lake of boiling lava.

The surging heat made Shion increasingly nervous. But she knew Yoruha was watching her from behind, and she didn't want to embarrass herself in front of him.

Even though she was scared, she gritted her teeth and slowly walked towards the altar.
