Chapter 283 - Chapter 283

The shock experienced by the two could easily illustrate just how lacking the ninja world is in historical knowledge.

Even someone as intelligent and seemingly well-read as Kakashi needed to consult the Konoha archives to learn detailed information about the First Hokage, including the fact that he specialized in Wood Release.

If Kakashi is at that level, then there's little hope for Omoi and Karui, who focus primarily on combat.

Forget about the Fourth Hokage, Minato.

If it weren't for the theoretical classes required by the ninja academy, they might not even know the names of the four Raikage from their own village.

They barely understand their own village's ninjas, let alone those from other villages. However, after listening to Samui's account, the two were utterly astonished by Minato.

Soon, they realized a pressing question: "Could that Konoha ninja be as powerful as the Fourth Hokage?" They were both shocked because they knew that Yoruha was the same age as them, their peer.

While they were still Chunin, Yoruha was not only a Jonin but potentially as strong as the Fourth Hokage, which would mean he had Kage-level strength.

Samui's expression remained icy, as it always was, fitting the meaning of her name.

Recalling how Yoruha had effortlessly subdued her and Yugito three years ago, she knew that Yoruha's strength might surpass even that of Minato. And was Moryo really that easy to deal with?

How many priestesses have perished sealing Moryo throughout history?

There were even several instances where Moryo's immortal army nearly annihilated the Five Great Nations, and they could only rely on the priestesses because only their power could seal Moryo.

Moryo possessed an immortal body, and ordinary sealing techniques were ineffective against it.

Even the sealing techniques of the Five Great Nations were of no use.

As long as Moryo wasn't dealt with, the immortal army would gradually wipe out the Five Great Nations. Yet, such a formidable Moryo was defeated by Yoruha.

Such a feat, even the strongest priestess in history, Miroku, couldn't achieve. It's unimaginable how powerful Yoruha must be. However, she said nothing.

Discussing such matters with her subordinates was pointless. She needed to report Yoruha's information to the Fourth Raikage. A few days later, Temari returned to Sunagakure.

In the Kazekage's office, Temari reported the mission to Gaara. Gaara maintained a calm expression, but internally, he was deeply shocked. Though he knew Yoruha was strong, he hadn't expected him to be that powerful.

This was Moryo, a demon that had never been eradicated throughout history. Even in the era of the powerful First Hokage and Uchiha Madara, Moryo had never been destroyed.

Yet Yoruha managed to deal with it. Of course, Gaara didn't know much about the First Hokage and Uchiha Madara, having only heard their names.

Gaara's tenure as Kazekage was too short, and he was too young, with even less historical knowledge than Temari, as he hadn't had the time to learn about historical figures from other villages.

But Gaara was well aware that Moryo had nearly destroyed the Five Great Nations several times, only to be sealed by priestesses in the end.

Upon reaching the seal, it was impossible to completely destroy it. Gaara rested his chin on his hands, his expression serious. "I didn't expect him to be that strong," he said. "Among the Five Great Nations, I'm afraid no one is stronger than him."

"Even Uchiha Sasuke isn't as powerful as he is." Having witnessed Sasuke's abilities firsthand, Gaara previously believed that Sasuke was the strongest ninja in the current shinobi world, even more powerful than the Hokage.

But now, he considered Yoruha to be the strongest ninja in the shinobi world.

"Yoruha and Uchiha Sasuke, these two powerhouses both appearing in Konoha, makes it the strongest ninja village in the world now.

If you could be with Yoruha, our relationship with Konoha would improve, and I'm sure he will become the Sixth Hokage of Konoha."

Gaara looked up at his sister. Temari blushed, "With his personality, he probably won't be bound by these relationships."

She didn't deny Gaara's statement; she just understood that Yoruha wasn't someone who would be constrained by personal feelings.

Gaara nodded, "Even so, as long as Konoha doesn't have any designs against us, that's enough. Right now, Sunagakure is too weak.

If we don't align with Konoha, we might even drop out of the ranks of the Five Great Ninja Villages." At this moment, Sunagakure was even weaker than the perpetually isolated Kirigakure.

But this wasn't a recent development. Ever since the establishment of the Five Great Ninja Villages, Kirigakure and Sunagakure had been vying for the last place.

However, Sunagakure was currently at its weakest point in history. Gaara, as the Kazekage, was under immense pressure, and the most embarrassing part was that he was the only Kage-level ninja in the entire village.

It was quite laughable. Of course, Kirigakure wasn't much better off than Sunagakure, but Kirigakure's mid-level ninjas, trained under the brutal Blood Mist policy, had a much higher average strength than those of Sunagakure.

Sunagakure, lacking financial resources, was producing fewer and fewer ninjas.

The commission from missions was far from enough to sustain the village's operations. In the ninja world, money was crucial for a ninja village.

Without money, they couldn't train a large number of ninjas, and without a large base of ninjas, how could they produce those exceptionally talented ones?

Yet the Land of Wind was the poorest among the Five Great Nations.

Even if the daimyo of the Land of Wind provided more financial support to Sunagakure, it couldn't compare to the wealthier nations like the Land of Fire or the Land of Lightning, not even the Land of Earth.

Gaara had no choice; if the situation in the Land of Wind weren't so dire, why would he consider using his sister to form alliances with ninjas from other villages? And whether the other party would agree was another matter.

Temari was aware of all this, but thinking about Yoruha's attitude left her with little confidence.

"According to Shikamaru, he's quite popular in Konoha. Although the people of Konoha are unaware of his immense strength, they know his medical ninjutsu is exceptional, and he holds a high status as a medical ninja in the village.

I'm sure there are plenty of excellent girls pursuing him."

"And since the Hokage knows his strength and is grooming him as the next Hokage, they must have already chosen a girl from a prominent Konoha family for him. My advantage isn't significant." Gaara understood this all too well.

Coming from a Kazekage family, he knew how ninja clans sought to recruit outstanding ninjas.

Not to mention, Yoruha was exceptional in every way. Could the families in Konoha be blind to this? Tsunade had probably already planned out Yoruha's future life in detail.

Gaara wasn't wrong about that.

Tsunade had indeed arranged Yoruha's future, but recently she realized that Yoruha wouldn't follow the script she had laid out.

Even though Yoruha wasn't following her plan, she had indeed chosen Ino as his future wife.
