The glow dimmed, the hum receded.
When the chamber opened again, everyone looked a little drained — the kind of exhaustion that wasn't physical but mental.
Zephyr blinked first. "Twenty-two minutes felt like hours."
"Means it worked," Brian said simply, removing his headset.
Lyra rubbed her temples. "And means we need hydration. Now."
> "Nutrient dispersal units are available in section four," Cream Puff supplied helpfully.
Kael stood and stretched his shoulders. "I'll take black coffee instead."
"Denied," Lyra said instantly. "You need electrolytes."
Theo gave a faint half-smile. "Doctor's orders."
Alyssa waved her wristpad. "Speaking of orders, data sync complete. I've got correlation metrics between field and recalibration readings. You're all going to love this."
Zephyr groaned. "That's code for 'we're going to have homework.'"
Alyssa smirked. "Correct."
Ava stepped closer. "Show me."
