The next morning, while Gina was having breakfast with Lily, her phone buzzed sharply on the table.
Lily's gaze flicked to the screen—and immediately, her brows knitted together.
"Gynic's Clinic?" She read aloud, her voice dripping with suspicion as her sharp eyes shifted to Gina's calm expression.
"Relax," Gina said, waving a hand casually as she reached for her coffee. "I'm not pregnant, if that's what you're thinking."
But Lily didn't budge. She leaned in like a hawk, her gaze laser-focused and full of persistent curiosity—the kind only a woman who had spent a lifetime worrying about everyone else could master.
"If you're not pregnant," Lily said slowly, suspiciously, "then why is a gynecologist's office calling you at eight in the morning?"
