The Rx golems' eyes lit up yellow.
All five units moved in sync, stepped forward, and dropped to one knee in front of Ben.
Elvira stood beside him with her arms crossed.
A small, satisfied smile sat on her lips.
"The AI seems to be working just fine," she said.
In the end, Ben had decided not to paint them white and blue.
That color scheme felt too obvious for battlefield use.
He was not building toys to show off, he was building soldiers and laborers.
So all five golems stayed a grim blackened gray, with yellow eyes, when they powered on.
Elvira looked at the nearest Rx golem.
"Rx-1, move five paces forward, then perform a diagnostic squat."
The golem obeyed.
Its heavy legs started moving with smooth, even steps.
It stopped, lowered itself into a squat, then rose back to standing without any problem.
"Rx-2, mimic Rx-1's movement," she said next.
Rx-2 stepped forward, but on the fourth pace its foot caught on a loose bolt that had fallen from the workbench.
