Theron had only subtly sent out his Third Eye just now, just as an attempt to establish some line of communication with the Nightingale Ancestor Bird, but the result was completely outside of his expectations.
Usually, when he used his Third Eye, it felt like he was invading the world around him, trying to impose the Will of his Soul onto it. But this time, it somehow felt like the opposite. It was like the world was trying to encroach onto his territory, and he had to fight back against it.
Even though he hadn't displayed his Third Eye to the greatest extent he could just now, he knew for a fact that its range had decreased considerably. In fact, it had probably decreased by a full 90% or even more.
He went from being able to cover hundreds of kilometers with his Third Eye, to only being capable of a handful of kilometers if he truly went all out.
