Amelia was at breakfast with a supply list open beside her plate, and Irelia was reading something while drinking coffee. The nameless man arrived shortly afterward, placed the contract on the table, and sat down.
"I signed it," he said.
Irelia immediately looked up. "After reading it again?"
"Four times."
"Excessive."
Kael stopped with his cup halfway to his mouth.
"You said he could read it as many times as he wanted."
"He could. That doesn't mean I can't consider it excessive."
The man handed her the document.
Irelia checked the signature, then pointed to the small symbol he'd used instead of a written name.
"Do you want to continue signing like this?"
"Yes."
"Then that's what we'll use."
"Even without a name?"
