Amelia pulled the page to the center of the table and asked everyone not to touch it for a few minutes. There was no immediate urgency, no city sinking, no bridge about to collapse, and no consciousness being corrected against its own will, and she seemed determined to take advantage of that while it remained true. Elion placed his instruments around the document, Seraphine remained near the fountain with the nameless man, and Eleonor raised two subtle spatial layers around the Courtyard of Statues, not to contain the First Archive, but to prevent any unexpected change from reaching other areas before they understood what was happening. Sylphie made Kael sit in one of the chairs, ignoring his attempt to argue that he was perfectly capable of standing.

"You just went through two projects on the same day and entered the First Archive again," she said while checking the mana flow near his shoulder. "You're going to argue while sitting."

"That damages my authority."

"Good."
