Scene Shift]
Lyriana walked down the quiet hallway, the soft click of her heels echoing gently off the stone walls. In her hands, she held two baby bottles, both filled with a shimmering red liquid. She stopped at a door near the end of the corridor, opened it slowly, and stepped inside.
Inside the nursery, two maids stood beside a large, ornate crib, quietly chatting to the tiny figures inside. When they saw Lyriana enter, both immediately bowed.
She offered them a graceful nod and said softly, "Please excuse yourselves. The young master will be arriving shortly, and he wishes to spend time alone with his siblings."
The maids nodded in unison. "Then we will be taking our leave," one said politely, and they both exited the room.
Lyriana moved closer to the crib. Inside, two infants lay nestled in silken sheets — Elenya and Lucifer. Both looked up at her with wide, curious eyes.
Elenya spotted the bottles first. Her small lips curled into a delighted smile, and she raised her tiny arms, reaching eagerly. Lucifer, in contrast, simply lay there, staring silently.
Lyriana smiled at the little girl's excitement. "Oh, I guess someone's really hungry," she cooed. "But I'm sorry, Princess Elenya. I can't give it to you yet. You'll have to wait just a little bit longer — the young master will be here soon, and then you can have it, alright?"
As Lyriana turned away, she added, "Let me just keep these here for now," and placed the bottles on a table across the room.
Elenya watched, her smile fading as her precious bottles moved farther out of reach. suddenly began wriggling, determination etched across her tiny face. She squirmed and twisted, her limbs awkwardly moving
Lucifer tilted his head curiously, red eyes glowing, watched his sister with mild curiosity.
Then, astonishingly, Elenya managed to roll over — a feat for any newborn — landing face-down on the soft sheets. A pair of tiny, bat-like wings suddenly popped out from her back. She lifted her head with a soft, determined "Hmph!" and, to Lyriana's surprise, began to rise.
Her little wings flapped faster, lifting her into the air. She giggled gleefully, wobbling higher and higher.
At the table, Lyriana paused. She had just placed the bottles down when she heard the soft giggle behind her. "Hm?" she murmured. "She's laughing? But I thought she was—"
She froze mid-thought, eyes widening.
There was Elenya — floating.
"No, Elenya! You can't do that!" Lyriana gasped. Her heart skipped. If she goes any higher, she'll hit the ceiling!
Moving with inhuman speed, Lyriana vanished from her spot and reappeared mid-air beside the infant, catching her gently.
"You're going to get hurt if you fly recklessly, Princess Ele," she scolded gently as they floated down. Her tone was concerned, but her eyes betrayed awe.
Elenya only giggled again, delighted by her new skill.
As Lyriana landed softly on the floor, she looked at the giggling baby in her arms and thought, To think she was just born yesterday… and already able to fly. I suppose purebloods really are different.
