Chapter 704 - The Crossfall Airship

Alex followed them without being noticed.

She kept her distance, moving through the shadows as the cloaked figures made their way across the city.

They eventually reached one of Dresvalle's sky ports.

Alex stopped near the entrance and watched as the group approached an airship docked at one of the platforms.

*So... they have a ship.*

She waited until the last of them entered.

Then—

Alex quietly followed.

She slipped aboard without drawing anyone's attention.

### Inside the Airship

Some time later—

Inside one of the rooms aboard the ship, several Crossfall Guild members stood before Faelyn.

Faelyn sat comfortably in a chair, a glass in her hand.

She took a slow drink as she listened to the reports.

One of the guild members stepped forward.

"We gathered information from the soldiers who were present during the incident."

Another continued.

"We also spoke with several adventurers and civilians who witnessed what happened."

Faelyn remained silent.

The guild members continued giving their reports.

They explained what they had discovered about the creatures that emerged from the hidden ruin beneath Dresvalle.

They also reported everything they had learned about the Demon King's son.

Faelyn slowly lowered her glass.

"So..."

She looked at them.

"At the same time the incident occurred, the city's spatial port was also attacked?"

"Yes."

One of the guild members nodded.

"According to the information we gathered, the Demon King's son was also spotted there."

Faelyn's eyes narrowed slightly.

"And that was the last place he was seen?"

"Yes."

The guild member nodded again.

"After he was spotted at the spatial port, there were no further sightings of him."

"We also found no reports of him leaving the port by airship, carriage, or any other known means of transportation."

Faelyn took another sip from her glass.

"So..."

She paused.

"He used spatial transfer."

"That's the conclusion we've reached."

The guild member lowered his head slightly.

"We couldn't find any other trace of him."

"There haven't been any sightings since."

Faelyn stared at the glass in her hand.

Then—

She chuckled softly.

"It doesn't matter."

The guild members looked at her.

Faelyn raised her eyes.

"I didn't give the order to gather information so you could find his location."

Silence filled the room.

One of the members looked confused.

"...Then?"

Faelyn placed the glass down.

"I only wanted to know what he did."

She leaned back in her chair.

"As for his location..."

A faint smile appeared on her face.

"I already know where he's going."

The guild members exchanged glances.

Faelyn's golden eyes gleamed.

"I already set our course before I gave the order."

She picked up her glass again.

"So the information you gathered simply confirmed what I already knew."

---

Outside the room—

Alex stood silently in the corridor.

Her expression had changed.

She had heard everything.

*She knows...*

Alex's eyes narrowed.

*She already knows where Draven is going.*

Her hand slowly tightened beneath her cloak.

The information she had spent days searching for—

was already in the hands of someone else.

And now—

she needed to find out exactly what Faelyn knew.

Alex stepped into the room without making a sound.

None of the Crossfall members noticed her.

Not until—

"I kindly ask that you tell me where he is."

Her voice immediately drew everyone's attention.

Every head turned.

Faelyn's golden eyes shifted toward the doorway.

The Crossfall members reacted instantly.

"Who—?!"

**WHOOSH!**

Several figures moved at once.

Weapons were drawn.

Mana erupted.

They attacked Alex from every direction.

Blades tore through her cloak.

Spears pierced through her body.

Crimson flashes filled the room.

For a moment—

it looked as though they had completely overwhelmed her.

Then—

The figure they had struck dissolved into shadows.

"...What?"

A dark blur passed through the room.

Alex suddenly appeared beside Faelyn.

The Crossfall members froze.

Faelyn slowly turned her head.

Alex stood only a few feet away, her expression completely calm.

"I thought I should just let you guys lead me to him."

She glanced at the surrounding guild members.

"But I can't waste any more time."

Her eyes returned to Faelyn.

"So I'll ask you directly."

"Where is he?"

Faelyn stared at her for a moment.

Then—

She let out a small breath.

A smile appeared on her face.

"So..."

"You found your way here by following my underlings."

She lifted her glass and took another sip.

"I suppose every hunter, mercenary, missionary, and assassin looking for that one-hundred-thousand-gold bounty would be searching for any information they could get on him."

Faelyn lowered the glass.

"But I'm sorry to disappoint you."

"I can't tell you."

Alex's eyes narrowed.

"It seems I made a mistake."

Faelyn raised an eyebrow.

"Oh?"

"I wasn't asking."

**BOOM!**

Alex suddenly kicked forward.

Her foot slammed toward Faelyn.

Faelyn reacted immediately.

She grabbed the chair beside her and raised it between them.

**CRASH!**

Alex's kick completely destroyed the chair.

Wood exploded in every direction.

Faelyn leapt backward.

Alex followed.

A dagger appeared in her hand.

She swung.

**SHING!**

Faelyn twisted her body.

The blade passed beside her face.

A few strands of her hair were sliced away.

They drifted through the air.

Faelyn landed several meters away.

She touched the side of her hair.

Her smile disappeared.

The Crossfall members immediately surrounded Alex.

But before any of them could attack—

Alex vanished.

**WHOOSH!**

She reappeared in the corner of the room.

Her dagger remained in her hand.

"I'll be forcing it out of you."

Alex's eyes remained fixed on Faelyn.

"You are allowed to speak now."

She slowly raised her dagger.

"Afterwards..."

A cold expression appeared on her face.

"...I might let you live."

She paused.

"But I can't let you open your mouth afterward."

Her eyes narrowed.

"So I'll have to make sure you don't."

Silence.

Then—

Faelyn smiled.

"Stand down."

The Crossfall members hesitated.

"Guild Master—"

"I said stand down."

One by one, they lowered their weapons.

Faelyn stepped forward.

Her golden eyes remained locked onto Alex.

"You're really confident, aren't you?"

She smiled.

"So you must have the strength to back up those words of yours."

Alex said nothing.

Faelyn's smile widened.

"And since you came here yourself..."

She tilted her head slightly.

"...looking for my Master..."

Alex's eyes narrowed.

*Master?*

Her expression changed slightly.

*What is she talking about?*

Faelyn noticed the change.

But she said nothing.

Instead—

She simply smiled.

"Well..."

"Let's see what you can do before you die."
