Nasya's POV

The murmurs hit me like a physical blow as I stepped into the hospital corridor.

"My God, it's actually her..."

"After all these years - where has she been hiding?"

"Not that it makes any difference. A defective omega like her could never contribute to the pack."

"I always said her running away was suspicious. Probably working with those rogue wolves all along."

"You don't think...she could have been involved in the old Alpha's death? The timing was too convenient - we were all out searching for her when it happened..."

The whispers slithered around me, each venomous word carefully calculated to reach my ears. They thought me too weak, too wolfless to catch their poisonous gossip. But that was the point - they made the whisper loud because they wanted me to hear. Wanted me to know exactly how little I mattered to this pack that had once been my home
