Ahem
I think I owe some of you an apology for disappearing for a while. I will try to release the next few chapters as I only recently realised that I have left you off on a big cliffhanger (I am really swory)
It really warms my heart that some people did actually comment on where the next chapter, so I would get on writing it.
Anyway, here's what I have been cooking for a while. It's a Fairy Tail fic. If you liked this fic, then you are definitely going to like this, as its starting is based on this. Just better. (Source- Trust me bro)
Here is the first chapter. See if it hooks you. Synopsis at the end.
Also, 5 chapters are already out.
FTF 1. Prologue
Year: x781
There were two sides on a flat landscape, comprising dry land with scattered rocks and open sky above.
It was a place that no one would recall after the battle ended. The wind was silent, not even a breath in the air, like the calm before the storm.
A lady with seven others stood on one side.
Her presence was greater than the collective presence of the other seven.
Crimson hair flowed down her back like blood-made silk. Her black dress shimmered faintly under the daylight, the ornate patterns lining its surface glowing with enchantment runes.
Her eyes were cold and detached, seeming to belong to one who'd lost touch with what mercy was.
Irene Belserion.
The Crimson Despair.
In front of her, a boy stood alone. Tan skin, black eyes, and hair that swayed gently. A normal, above-average-looking teenager. However, his gaze didn't match his age.
He stood firm, his shoulders loose, but his eyes never wavered from Irene's. They searched her, not only as an adversary, but as something. An object to be examined. Like a scientist wondering if a snake's poison could be reversed.
'What's the threat level of those seven to this battle?' he mused. 'How can I kill them without Irene getting in the way? What if...'
There were already several calculations underway in his head. Several decisions he needs to make.
"Kazu Sukehiro. Fiore's Youngest mage to be appointed S-rank." Irene broke the silence.
"I didn't know that old ladies like you have heard of me. Should I be honoured?" Kazu grinned.
The two said nothing. Just stared.
Then it happened.
"Berserker," Irene whispered, but the earth responded more loudly than her words. Runes burst from her hand and radiated in broad arcs. All of them converged on Kazu.
Kazu didn't budge. He stood there, absorbing all those arcs without any change in his experience.
"Hoh... not bad," she said, seeing how a shimmering white barrier appeared around Kazu, protecting him from the enchantment. "Most mages would be down already."
'She could have cast it without such dramatic effects. How inefficient.'
Kazu said nothing. He kicked the earth hard, flying forward like a bullet.
But before he could get to her—they appeared.
Seven bodies squirmed and distorted in Irene's magic. Flesh bubbled. Their faces disappeared into darkness. Flames erupted from the crowns of their heads. Teeth elongated into fangs. Their bodies were curved and monstrous, muscles rippling abnormally.
The Berserker Enchantment had taken hold.
Every single one of them jumped forward, cutting him off from his dash.
'She enchanted while my attention was on her earlier magic. As expected of a 400-year-old granny.' Kazu silently observed.
"Each of them has power equivalent to what you term an S-rank mage," Irene said, hovering a little above the ground, arms crossed. Her smile was carefree, almost nonchalant.
Kazu scowled and stepped back, dancing around them. His feet landed for an instant before twisting again. He spun low to avoid a punch. Sprang high over the swipe of a clawed arm. Twirled to the side as two attacked him together.
He didn't seem to be fighting. He seemed to be dancing with them. As if it was a preplanned performance.
White-colored Ethernano encased his fist as he parried some of the attack while counterattacking whenever there was an opening.
'She wasn't bluffing. Our guild's S-ranks might take down these individually, but ordinary S-ranks would be lucky to get out alive even one of these,' Kazu thought darkly.
"Even kids in Ishgar could handle these beasts," he scoffed, eyes calculating. Observing how each one moved, how fast, how in sync. Everything was being analysed. Almost instinctively.
The retort was intentional as well.
Irene chuckled. "Then maybe I should visit Magnolia. I need to retrieve something from Fairy Tail anyway. Two birds with one stone."
The object Irene was talking about was none other than Lumen Histoire, or better known as Fairy Heart.
Kazu knew that, too. The shift was instant.
The calculation in Kazu's eyes disappeared. What replaced it wasn't fury.
It was hatred. Cold. Focused.
He gritted his teeth. His fist clenched, veins bulging beneath the skin.
"I like that look," Irene smirked.
His right fist lifted, ethernano flaring. The white glow began to darken. Shade by shade, it turned black.
Kazu punched.
A Berserker's body exploded.
There was no delay, no resistance. Just a single hit, and the thing shattered like glass under a hammer.
The others didn't stand a chance either. His speed didn't change from before. Just the impact of those blows. Each strike ended a life. S-rank strength? It didn't matter. He broke them one by one. Brutally. Cleanly. Efficiently.
Then he dashed again, closing the distance to Irene.
Suddenly— a flash filled his vision.
BOOOOOOOOM
A massive explosion bloomed from beneath his feet.
It knocked him in mid-air. Fire bit into his arms and side. He hit the ground hard, rolling across dirt and stone. He pressed his hand against the earth to stop himself.
Smoke curled from his clothes.
His expression stayed still. Burn marks were traced along his cheek and shoulder, but he didn't cry out.
The hatred in his eyes dimmed.
It didn't dominate anymore, but rather, now shared space with something else.
Calculation.
'Calm down. You just need to stall. She's out of my league.' Kazu reminded himself.
"Hoho. When I first saw the intel of a 13-year-old becoming an S-rank, I thought Ishgar's standards had dropped significantly. Now seeing you first-hand, I retract that statement."
Kazu frowned.
"Is that so?" He outstretched his hand towards her.
A magic circle formed beneath her feet, comprising various letters. And—
They started crawling upwards, in the air, surrounding Irene.
They formed 3 pillars.
'Three Pillar Gods' Kazu poured a considerable amount of ethernano into the barrier.
Next, he started adding various effects to the barrier.
'Sleep induce. Rationality debuff. Sensory Deprivation induce. Fear induce. Horny...' He poured in most of the deadliest effects he knew.
CRACK
The sound of glass shattering could be heard, followed by Kazu's barrier crumbling.
"Now, that was a formidable restraining spell. Colour me impressed."
Kazu's calm facade broke.
His eyes widened. Disbelief coloured his face.
'That was my strongest barrier. Even I don't have the confidence to break out of it if somebody uses it on me.' He gulped.
"Where's that look you gave me earlier? This is disappointing. Is this all you could do?"

What to expect:
You should get a good idea after reading the first few chapters, but I will tell you anyway.
- A protagonist who would have both power and character development.
- Side characters—especially the main cast will be shown in detail and have varying levels of development.
- A considerable portion of the story takes place before Canon, in the Fairy Tail Guild. Due to this, there might be changes to the Canon. Moreover, the pacing is on the slower side.
- A protagonist who has interesting magic. (If you are curious, just check out the first few chapters)
