Chapter 723 - Chapter 722: Frozen Embarrassment

Although men and women are built differently, in certain ways, their physical needs are quite similar. However, one notable difference is that men's desires often peak when they are younger and more energetic, while women's needs may become more prominent as they mature.

At this point in her life, Kelly Soren didn't have a boyfriend—except for Jiang Hai.

Jiang Hai, on the other hand, had many people who could help him "meet his needs," but Kelly didn't. Originally, she had hoped something might happen with Jiang Hai the previous day, but because of that unfortunate incident with Diliya, she could only watch him leave.

Now, with him finally on her turf, there was no way she was going to let Jiang Hai get away again.

As soon as they entered the bathroom, they embraced with passion. What happened next wasn't suitable for detailed description. All that can be said is—they stayed in there for more than an hour, and when they came out, they were far from done.

They moved to Kelly's bed, continuing their intimate "battle." The sounds of their passion filled the dorm room.

"I love you..." Kelly whispered, clinging tightly to Jiang Hai like a koala. Her arms were wrapped around his neck, her entire body pressing against him. She wanted to be close to him every second, to feel both his soul and body.

She wasn't entirely sure what she felt for Jiang Hai—was it his strength, his wealth, or just... him?

She didn't know. But whatever it was, it didn't stop her from being with him. Sometimes, youth is about letting impulses lead the way.

But just then, Jiang Hai's ears twitched slightly—he had heard something: the sound of a door opening.

Before either of them could react, the dorm room door swung open.

Standing in the doorway was a tall girl, around 1.7 meters. She had long blonde hair, wore black-rimmed glasses, and a plaid jacket. She was quite pretty but looked completely stunned.

Her eyes locked onto Jiang Hai and Kelly—and the unmistakable connection between them.

"Hi, Jenny..." Kelly took a deep breath and greeted the stunned girl.

The girl, Jenny, finally snapped out of it. She gave a stiff, awkward smile, quickly muttered "I'm so sorry," and shut the door again.

"Ugh... I should've just taken you to a hotel," Jiang Hai said, scratching the back of his head, feeling awkward.

"It's fine. I guess she just went out for a walk. Let's keep going," Kelly said mischievously. She had no plans of letting Jiang Hai go now—not when she didn't have anyone else like him around. She whispered something in Jiang Hai's ear with a teasing smile.

Her playful motion reignited Jiang Hai's desire, and the two resumed. Perhaps spurred by the fear that Jenny might return at any moment, they only picked up the pace.

Unfortunately, just as they reached the climax of their moment, the door opened again—and this time, there was no stopping.

Jenny stood frozen again.

In truth, she hadn't left at all earlier—just waited outside. She assumed her unexpected entrance would have cooled things off, giving them time to dress.

She hadn't expected them to accelerate instead.

Watching the scene in front of her, Jenny gulped audibly. Without a word, she closed the door again—this time, much more quietly.

Eventually, things inside the room settled. Jiang Hai and Kelly lay in each other's arms on the bed. About ten minutes later, Kelly dressed and opened the door again. She was a little embarrassed, especially when she met Jenny's eyes.

Jenny looked as if she had witnessed something deeply scarring—or deeply confusing.

"Still during class hours... Why are you back so early?" Jiang Hai asked, dressed and cracking the window to let the air circulate. But the residual smell still lingered—making Jenny a bit uncomfortable.

"Oh, Professor Malifi had something to deal with, so this afternoon's class is self-study. I didn't have much to do... thought I'd come back and rest. I'm sorry!" Jenny stammered nervously, avoiding eye contact.

"Okay, okay, no one's blaming you," Kelly sighed. She'd known Jenny for years—when was this girl ever going to come out of her shell?

Just then, Jiang Hai pointed to his watch and said, "Hey, the movie's about to start."

Kelly checked the time. They had only about 30 minutes left, including time to redeem their tickets, find their seats, and buy snacks.

"Yeah, we should go." Then, glancing at Jenny, she added, "If you're free, want to come with us?"

Both Jenny and Jiang Hai froze. Wasn't that... a little strange?

"I-I-I... I'll pass," Jenny mumbled.

"You said you wanted to watch Magic Forest, right? Why are you being so shy now? Let's go..." Kelly regretted her invitation the moment she said it, but it was too late. Jenny seemed a little tempted, so she gently pulled Jenny along and looked to Jiang Hai.

Jiang Hai shrugged—it was her call.

"I already bought the tickets. Let's go," Kelly said, checking the seating chart. Luckily, there was still a seat next to theirs. She bought it quickly, then looked at Jenny again before dragging her along.

Jenny, seeing how serious Kelly was—and how Jiang Hai didn't seem like a sketchy guy—nodded nervously and followed them.

She sat in the back of Jiang Hai's pickup. Typically, people didn't wear seatbelts back there, but Jenny fastened hers tightly and glanced timidly at the two in the front.

Jiang Hai couldn't help but find her shy demeanor a little amusing.

"Let me introduce you," Kelly said once the ride settled. "This is Jiang Hai—my friend. And this is Jenny Ponder, my roommate. She's also at Boston University, same year as me. She'll be graduating soon. Don't be fooled by how she looks—she's one of the top students in the whole school. Her only flaw is being way too introverted."

Jiang Hai glanced at Jenny. She did look a little plain—but strong in her own way.

She was from New Jersey—not as glamorous as Boston or New York. He didn't know her exact family background, but judging by her self-esteem issues, it couldn't have been great.

But despite her introversion, Jenny believed in one thing: knowledge is power.

She had excellent grades. She should've gone to a better university, but nerves and a fever during her entrance exam landed her at BU instead.

Still, BU was no slouch—it ranked 32nd globally, ahead of top Chinese schools like Tsinghua or Fudan.

Jenny was majoring in Business Administration. She should have been hired long ago. In fact, over 30 companies, including several Fortune 500s—and even Walmart—had courted her since her junior year.

But there was one huge problem: she froze in interviews.

She couldn't present herself well, and after a few failures, she stopped going. That loss of confidence kept her stuck.

Her only real friend was Kelly.

Jiang Hai glanced at her again. Could she be a hidden gem?

"If Kelly recommends you, I trust her," Jiang Hai said. "My company just started. We mainly handle beef, fish, and seafood from my estate. There's also a logistics arm for global distribution. We're still building things, so we could use someone like you. If you're interested, you can come check it out."

Jenny's eyes lit up with hope.

"Really? I mean... is that okay?" she asked, half in disbelief.

She'd been under pressure, unable to find work, afraid even to call home. Returning unemployed would be humiliating.

"Of course." Jiang Hai smiled and handed her a business card.

It had the address of his company. The card was gold-plated—two dollars apiece. He'd had a thousand printed after launching the business. He hadn't given out many yet.

"Drop by tomorrow if you're free. Kelly can bring you," Jiang Hai said.

Kelly nodded—she was happy to help.

In the backseat, Jenny finally smiled. Who would've thought such an awkward, embarrassing situation would lead to something this hopeful?

Looking down at the business card, she thought to herself: Maybe... this man is actually a really good person.
