Since none of the calls was connecting, Sylas decided to take another approach and do something else. After a brief thought, he made a decision.
If by morning there wasn't any response from them, then perhaps taking a trip to the Allen Group and asking to see Jessica might open the situation up.
Maybe he would get to hear the whispers, the fears and possibly the rumors that might have shaken the group after the accident.
Above all, he hated being kept in the dark. And with Jessica having laid off several staff members of the Group, he no longer had any insider feeding him information.
"It seems I should have taken this step earlier," he muttered under his breath. "I guess I'll be starting all over again. But maybe this time, it'll finally be for the best."
As he turned toward his study to deal with other matters, his phone rang. He pulled it out. The screen lit up with the truck driver's number.
"Sir, we are done," the man said, his voice calm and composed.
