To confirm the truth, James nodded calmly and opened his mind.
In an instant, the thoughts of every believer around him unfolded like pages in a book.
[Lord God agreed! As expected—gold, silver, treasures… none of that matters to Him. Only by offering beautiful women can we earn His favor!]
[Why aren't Rick and the others ready yet? They should've reached the village already! If they fail, Lord God may punish us… I pray I won't be implicated!]
[To think I'd be so blessed today! First Lord God appears… then foreign women arrive! If we offer them all to Him… what divine blessing will we receive in return!?]
James blinked.
Foreign women?
A sharp flash of Observation Haki swept across Asuka Island.
At the island's main harbor, the situation became immediately clear—
A group of townspeople were facing off against three slave ships, heavily armed. The slavers were firing cannon after cannon… yet every shot miraculously missed, striking empty coastline instead of the people standing right beneath them.
Vivi's sandstorm and Nami's cloud formation… good timing, James thought.
Meanwhile, a lavishly decorated passenger vessel slipped deeper into the inner river—almost too quickly.
Inside the ship's cabin, dozens of beautifully dressed women trembled in fear.
A large, muscular woman—clearly the guard captain—stood on deck wielding a spear as her trembling subordinates gathered behind her.
The residents of Asuka Island—strangely enough—did not stop these women. Instead, they watched them pass with faint smiles, as if… waiting.
Deep within the island, elite warriors lay in ambush.
James exhaled quietly.
"The 'gift' you mentioned…" he asked the believer nearby, "would that be the group of women being driven into the island?"
The man fell to his knees instantly.
"As expected of Lord God! Your omniscience and omnipotence are as vast as the ocean! Your servants are humbled!"
James stared at him for a moment.
This ordinary-looking man is quite the talented flatterer. No wonder he dared approach me.
"Disperse," he commanded. "I'll go receive your 'gift.'"
"Yes, Lord God!"
James returned briefly to instruct Nami and the others. Then, in a burst of blue light, he transformed into lightning and shot into the sky above the ship.
But before boarding, he turned toward the three slave ships.
From above, he could clearly see the pirate flags fluttering.
The symbol belonged to—
Doflamingo.
James smirked.
Skypiea will reach the New World soon, yet that flamboyant bastard hasn't sent anyone to test me. Is he afraid? Or does he think a mere 300 million bounty isn't worth the trouble?
Either way, the result would be identical.
James raised a hand.
A massive electric field expanded outward, enveloping all three ships.
He quickly confirmed there were no Devil Fruits or captive women aboard.
Lightning crackled around his fingers.
His voice echoed like divine thunder:
⚡El Thor (God's Judgment)⚡
A colossal pillar of lightning descended from the heavens—
BOOOOOM!!!
In one strike, all three ships were annihilated—reduced to cinders and debris raining down onto the water. Flames erupted, hissing violently as they met the sea.
The villagers cheered at once.
"It's Lord God! Lord God has acted!"
The spectacle—like the wrath of heaven—left them practically worshipping the air.
James ignored their fervor, lips drawing into a faint smile.
A flash—and he materialized on the deck of the ornate ship.
The burly female guard tensed instantly.
Her subordinates rushed behind her, weapons shaking in their hands.
James's gaze swept over them. His voice—cold, amplified by electricity—slid into the cabin.
"Come out. All of you.
Those who hunted you are already dead."
"W–Who are you…?" the guard captain began—
—but collapsed mid-sentence with a heavy thud. The intimidation alone from James was enough to knock her unconscious.
"Captain!"
The dancers and guards panicked.
James exhaled lightly.
"I am not here to negotiate. You have stepped onto my territory.
From this moment on, you will obey my commands."
His pressure rolled through the deck like a storm. The dancers trembled.
The cabin door creaked open—
But not by the guards.
The dancers themselves stepped out timidly, clinging to each other, fear in their eyes.
James observed them, gaze sweeping from head to toe.
Not bad at all.
Their figures were lovely. Their features delicate. Their movements graceful.
Clearly—they were trained performers who did Songs and Dances.
His suspicion was confirmed when he asked:
"Who are you all?"
"We… we are the most renowned dance troupe of the Kingdom of Genosia…"
"Oh?"
James chuckled softly.
"As I thought. A troupe of singers and dancers.
How delightful."
He leaned back slightly, amused.
"Introduce yourselves. One by one."
Resisting was out of the question; instinct and terror pushed them forward.
They exchanged glances and began speaking in order, their voices shaky but clear.
James listened attentively.
Then one voice made him pause.
A purple-haired woman stepped forward—slender-waisted, beautiful, with ruby ornaments shimmering against her hair.
"I… My name is Pascia. I've been part of the Dance troupe since I was a child…"
James's eyes sharpened.
Her.
Recognition flashed.
Pascia—the dancer who was auctioned at Sabaody Archipelago in the original timeline.
Pascia was the exotic dancer who was auctioned off at the auction house when Luffy fought the Celestial Dragon Saint Charlos.
Introduced as a peerless beauty with miraculous proportions in the auction.
He had originally believed acquiring her would be annoyingly difficult—he would have needed to monitor Sabaody nonstop before the Straw Hats' arrival, hoping to catch her before the slave traders could.
And even then, she might never appear.
Yet here she stood.
Delivered to him by fate itself.
James smiled slowly.
Sometimes, destiny truly favored gods.
Character Note: Pascia
A legendary dancer famed for her beauty and exceptional proportions. Auctioned at Sabaody in canon.
Now 'rescued' before slavery—destined to bring James many captivating nights.
