Hence, without the slightest hesitation, she spoke up, her voice firm as it cut through the faint hum of the café.
"Aurora can't join. She already has her own meeting."
Aurora nodded lightly, her expression calm, fingers brushing against the strap of her bag.
'That's fine,' she thought. 'I have much more important people waiting for me.' She did not voice it, merely letting the moment pass.
Dana, however, saw things very differently. Since she had already decided that she wanted to get acquainted with Aurora, she resolved to be shameless once again.
Leaning forward, she smiled sweetly and declared, "If Aurora isn't coming, then I won't join either."
The words landed like a stone. Dorothy's heart skipped, and panic flickered across her face.
Dana was someone she genuinely wanted to know better.
Even though Dana wasn't exceptionally rich, she possessed something far more valuable... connections.
