Thalina looked down at Vanora still in her arms and suddenly remembered something. Had Vanora not unlocked her powers a few days ago?
"Vanora, baby…" she whispered, eyes narrowing suspiciously.
The little pink wolf blinked up at her with those glittery innocent eyes, as if butter wouldn't melt in her mouth.
"Yes mama" Her tail gave a slow wag. Cute. But Thalina wasn't fooled.
"You're not just some fluffy side character, are you?" Thalina muttered, squinting dramatically. "You leveled up, didn't you? Don't think I forgot. You literally spat sparkles and made our ceiling explode."
Vanora tilted her head.

Thalina gave her a suspicious poke on the cheek. "Girl, you better be hiding something epic in there. It's monster o'clock and your mama's about to run out of stamina."
Vanora yawned.
"Don't 'yawn' at me! I'm in the middle of an emotional crisis!"
