Chapter 211 - Chapter 210: Facing Thanos

After the war ended, Loki was taken back to Asgard, while the Mind Scepter was left in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s possession. However, it was later stolen by a Hydra agent hidden within S.H.I.E.L.D. and delivered to Hydra's research facility.

Using the power of the Mind Stone, Hydra unlocked the potential of Wanda and Quicksilver—granting Wanda immense magical abilities (upon closer inspection, the movie version attributes her powers to the Mind Stone rather than her being a mutant; in the comics, she is both a mutant and Magneto's daughter), while Quicksilver gained his super-speed.

Later, Iron Man and Dr. Banner uploaded J.A.R.V.I.S. into the body Ultron had prepared for himself, embedding the Mind Stone into it, thus creating Vision.

Vision's consciousness was actually granted by the Mind Stone.

During its artificial intelligence phase, J.A.R.V.I.S. didn't truly possess independent thought—since it lacked self-awareness, it was merely a tool that followed Iron Man's commands absolutely.

That changed when he became Vision.

His first words were, "I am not Ultron. I am not J.A.R.V.I.S. either."

Finally, he affirmed his own existence and named himself "Vision."

The name "Vision" represents an ideal—a glimpse into the future.

For a person to have hope, desire, and attitude toward the future is what truly defines them as human. Even if one chooses to give up, that choice itself is a form of personal will and a way of life.

Thus, Vision was born.

Looking at it this way, the power of the Mind Stone becomes quite evident.

It creates thoughts and alters them.

In essence, the Mind Stone is the Mind Gem.

The word "mind" can be translated as "heart" or "spirit," but more precisely, it should be understood as "thought" or "consciousness."

Therefore, the Mind Stone is actually the manifested essence of all sentient thought in the universe!

Its true power likely far surpasses what was shown in the movies!

However, Peter had no time to delve into studying the Mind Stone.

Because Thanos had arrived!

A portal suddenly appeared right beside Peter, and immediately, a sentient, walking purple yam stepped through.

"The power of the Space Stone, huh?" Peter murmured.

Behind him, multiple figures emerged.

[Ikon Illusion]!

Clones!

Without giving Thanos a chance to speak, the moment these clones appeared, they each unleashed their respective spells, attacking him from all directions.

Yet, in the face of the overwhelming barrage of magic, Thanos merely smirked in disdain.

He extended his hand and swung it forcefully.

The very fabric of space seemed to tear apart, and the rippling shockwaves shattered many of the spells instantly, reverting them back into raw magical energy that dissipated into the air.

As for the spells that "luckily" managed to hit him, they were no more than an itch—Thanos didn't even flinch.

Thanos' strength, endurance, regeneration, and mental resilience were already at the peak of a single-universe entity.

Now, with the combined power of four Infinity Stones—Space, Soul, Power, and Reality—his strength had been amplified to near-limitless heights.

Within this single universe, he had essentially reached the pinnacle.

"Good thing you haven't collected all six yet," Peter muttered in mild exasperation as he conjured even more clones to launch a full-scale assault on Thanos.

Seeing this, Vision, who had been conversing with him moments ago, joined the battle.

Not far away, Wanda noticed the commotion. In an instant, she unleashed a surge of chaotic magic, clearing out the nearby Chitauri soldiers.

Then, she swiftly flew to Vision's side, standing alongside him and Peter as they faced off against Thanos together.

"Actually, I haven't even had the chance to fully grasp this power yet. I wasn't planning on using it so soon."

Peter closed his eyes and lit up a point of light deep within his soul.

At the same time, a mass of mysterious energy was awakened in the depths of a dimension.

In just the span of a breath, it traversed countless spaces and arrived near Earth.

However, it did not react immediately. Instead, it glowed faintly, as if observing something.

This was the "Cosmic Captain's Power Pager" left behind when the power of the Cosmic Captain from the Earth-13 universe departed. It allowed Peter to summon the Cosmic Captain's power once in another world.

At that time, he had already decided to use this power in this universe.

After all, from the perspective of the Marvel multiverse, the movie universe was the primary live-action universe.

Meanwhile, Earth-616 was the primary comic universe.

Through his understanding of the Great Web, Peter discovered that the movie universe and the comic universe were actually quite different.

Perhaps, just as he had initially speculated, these two universes belonged to different types of Omniversal Realities!

Maybe they should be classified as: The Comic Omniverse and The Live-Action Omniverse!

The most intuitive difference was that in the Live-Action Omniverse, his connection to the Great Web felt significantly weaker.

However, regardless of that, this universe was closer to the one where he existed as a "real" person.

Besides, over there, he had the power of the Great Web protecting him. While his raw strength might not be sufficient yet, in terms of authority, he was already at a multiversal level.

So, if he wanted to establish a foothold in this Live-Action Omniverse, using the Cosmic Captain's power here was undoubtedly the best choice.

But what puzzled Peter was that after using the "Cosmic Captain's Power Pager", he did not receive an immediate response.

After waiting for a while, he felt a tinge of disappointment.

"Maybe... I can't receive the Cosmic Captain's power in this universe?"

"If that's the case, I'll just have to rely on my own hands to solve this!"

Yet, Peter did not feel discouraged.

The Peter of now was no longer the same as when he had first arrived in this world.

After experiencing so many battles, he had long since become a qualified warrior with an unwavering heart.

Although it was a pity that he couldn't use the Cosmic Captain's power, he still had Scarlet Witch Wanda, Vision, and Doctor Strange, along with himself.

Even though Wanda and Doctor Strange had yet to reach their peak forms, with the four of them working together, they should still be able to take on Thanos, right?

Peter threw himself back into the battle, taking the opportunity to send a "magic call" to Doctor Strange, summoning him to the battlefield.

Doctor Strange arrived swiftly.

With all four of them joining forces, the battle with Thanos soon reached a stalemate.

If they could find a way to remove the Infinity Gauntlet from Thanos' hand and strip away the four Infinity Stones he wielded, then this Infinity War would be as good as won!

---

"Do you see that? It's him! His reality is different from ours! And those Spiders he brought with him... their auras are not the same as ours!"

In a sub-dimensional space near Earth, a punk-styled, white-haired man watched the battle unfold on the planet below, laughing wildly.

"He is indeed unusual. In this universe's original past and future, he never existed. Yet, his presence hasn't caused any expansion of the Sacred Timeline. Why is that? How can he suppress the timeline?"

The voice of another man was filled with shock and confusion.
