Chapter 48 - The seven children

Aria's Pov

The room spun before me, with memories and the present mixing in a confusing swirl. My wolf form shook as I tried to make sense of everything I was seeing and feeling. Margaret's memory kept playing out around us, showing truths I had both wanted and dreaded just as much.

I watched as Margaret returned to Jeremy, her eyes scanning the angry red gash across his torso. Though it was closing slowly, I could see the worry etched on her face.

"You'll have a scar," she said softly, her fingers hovering just above the wound. "I'm sorry I don't have time for a cleaner healing."

Jeremy managed a weak smile. "Battle scars are sexy, right?"

Margaret shook her head, but I caught the hint of amusement in her eyes before she turned away but she said, " Don't worry, you won't even remember this conversation by tomorrow."

My attention was drawn to Tom's voice in my head.

"Aria, it's you and me in the corner of the room, right?"
