"It's not your fault. You didn't know beforehand," Alex said righteously, taking all the blame onto himself. "This is my fault. If I had been firmer, if I hadn't worried about hurting you, I could have pushed you away. It's all my mistake. Everything is my fault."

"No! You didn't do anything wrong!" Clara sobbed from under the covers. "It's all my fault! I'm not human! I'm such a damn animal!"
