In the larger tent, Julie murmured Cassius's name softly in her sleep, her lips curled into a faint smile as though she were lost in some blissful dream.
Beside her, Skadi dozed with a blissful grin of her own, drool trickling down her cheek as she dreamed of roasting meat, her stomach giving the occasional hungry growl even in sleep.
...But Aisha was wide awake.
She lay on her bed with eyes burning against the dark canvas ceiling, her restless heart pounding too loudly for comfort. Her face was already hot, cheeks flushed with the weight of her own thoughts.
Finally, unable to bear it, she threw off her blanket, her petite frame shivering slightly as the night air kissed her bare legs. She was dressed only in a thin nightgown, its hem brushing just past her thighs, doing little to hide the outline of her slim body.
