He didn't answer immediately. His smile was growing, lips twitching like he couldn't believe what he was seeing. And then—
He burst out laughing.
A full-bodied, loud laugh that made Nala jerk upright, cheeks instantly going red.
"Wh-What?! What is it?! Why are you laughing like that?!" She shoved at his shoulder. "Don't you dare say that you're laughing at me! Y-You said I did well! You can't laugh at me after making me do something like that!"
Cassius tried to wave her off between chuckles, wheezing. "It's not you! I swear it's not that, it's just...damn, of course this would happen. Of course."
He looked like a man who'd just seen fate itself playing a prank on him and Nala squinted at him suspiciously, now sitting up and clutching her tail like a blanket.
