Chapter 778 - Chapter 1033 - The Attack of the Tyrantrum

When Aoki opened his eyes again, he was shocked by what he saw. Pupitar, who had been listening to the class obediently, had now run to the front. The Pupitar was explaining something enthusiastically. Aggron, who had been training with Aoki, also stood next to Pupitar, and the two Pokémon worked together to demonstrate various battle techniques.

It appeared they were discussing advanced combat strategies and training methods. Tyranitar, who had originally been giving the lecture, was now sitting behind all the Pupitars and Larvitars, listening attentively to Aoki's Pupitar and Aggron's explanations while nodding periodically as if having sudden realizations. Not just him, but all the other Tyranitars were seated nearby, absorbing the knowledge from Pupitar's lecture. Even the leader of the Tyranitars, though maintaining a reluctant posture with crossed arms and downward gaze, occasionally shifted his feet and tail in a way that betrayed his interest.

All the Pokémon present, whether Pupitars, Larvitars or Tyranitars, were completely engaged in the lesson. It was as if Pupitar had become the teacher, sharing wisdom gained from Aoki's specialized training methods. While the Tyranitars possessed incredible natural fighting instincts from their harsh environment, Pupitar's systematic training under Aoki's guidance offered them new perspectives on combat.

Seeing that Pupitar was not only safe but actively engaged with the others, Aoki felt relieved. However, he noticed Carbink remained faithfully by his side, looking distinctly different from ordinary Carbinks. "Why don't you go join them?" Aoki asked gently.

The Carbink looked up at Aoki with surprise - this was the first time Aoki had encouraged it to socialize freely. Aoki patted Carbink's head reassuringly. "It's alright. You're free to do as you please. You don't need to stay by my side constantly."

Carbink's eyes shimmered with hesitant hope, as if asking for confirmation. When Aoki nodded encouragingly, it suddenly beamed with joy before bouncing energetically toward Pupitar and Aggron. Aggron showed no hesitation in welcoming Carbink, lifting it gently onto his broad metallic shoulder where it perched comfortably amidst the other Pokémon.

As Aoki and Slowking observed the scene - Pupitar and Aggron instructing the Tyranitar clan while Carbink participated happily - they enjoyed a rare moment of peace. All necessary preparations were complete; now they simply needed to wait for events to unfold naturally.

Nearly two hours passed before the lesson concluded. This session had been fundamentally different from previous ones - both the mighty Tyranitars and young Larvitars had gained substantial new knowledge. Consequently, Aoki's Pupitar's reputation among them grew significantly. While the three strongest Tyranitars still regarded Pupitar as a promising junior, the others now treated it as an equal. Several young Larvitars even began viewing Pupitar as a role model, aspiring to reach similar heights after evolution.

What they didn't realize was the immense resources Aoki had invested to develop Pupitar to its current capability. Under normal circumstances in this resource-scarce environment, raising a Champion-level Pokémon would be nearly impossible. The existence of three such powerful Tyranitars here suggested hidden secrets within this valley that Aoki had yet to discover.

As the Pokémon began preparing their evening meal, the Tyranitar leader suddenly raised its head sharply, focusing intently on a specific direction outside the valley. It set down its food with deliberate care.

"Tyraaa!" The leader's deep roar echoed through the canyon.

Immediately, all other activity ceased as every Tyranitar responded to the call.

"TYRA!"

"TYRANITAR!"

A chorus of powerful voices answered as the entire Tyranitar clan, led by their leader, marched purposefully toward the valley's edge. Only Pupitar, Larvitar and their group remained behind. Under the guidance of the nearly-evolved Pupitar, they quickly retreated to a sheltered corner of the valley.

Aoki watched the departing Tyranitars with confusion, uncertain what had triggered this response. His Pupitar appeared equally perplexed. However, the answer soon became apparent as distant roars and thunderous footsteps grew steadily louder.

"Let's go investigate," Aoki said urgently, motioning to his team as he hurried after the Tyranitars. The elder Pupitar attempted to stop them, but Aoki and his Pokémon had already moved beyond reach.

At the valley's rim, the Tyranitar leader and its clan stood in formation, watching ominously as a massive dust cloud approached. When Aoki arrived, he immediately understood the situation - an entire herd of Pokémon was advancing toward them, and their intentions seemed hostile.

The Tyranitar leader's expression darkened with grim determination. "So there are indeed creatures here that challenge even the Tyranitar's dominance," Aoki realized. While individually a Tyranitar could likely defeat any single opponent, numbers presented a different kind of threat - especially when protecting vulnerable clan members.

Soon the approaching creatures became visible through the swirling dust. Aoki recognized them immediately - Tyrantrums. Dozens of them, perhaps thirty or forty strong. No wonder they posed a threat even to the mighty Tyranitars. Aoki surmised their target was likely the valley's precious water source - in this harsh environment, control of water meant survival, and every powerful species would fight to claim it.
