Chapter 785 - Chapter 1040 - Purple! Infinite Potential

The voices of the Tyranitars resounded throughout the valley. It was estimated that even all the nearby Pokemon outside the valley were trembling at this moment. Aside from the difference in size, Aoki's Tyranitar was also different from them in another way. That was the area above the right eye on its head, which had a red stripe. It looked like a scar, making it appear more domineering and majestic. This color might be what Tyranitar liked. After all, it had enjoyed running around with a small red schoolbag when it was a Larvitar.

The evolution was finally complete! Aoki also let go of the heavy burden in his heart. However, what followed was even greater pressure. Judging from the current size of Aggron and Tyranitar, Aoki felt that he might really go bankrupt from being eaten to death in the future. Now that they had completed their evolution, their energy requirements might not be very high. But when their strength increased, the energy demands for their continued growth would definitely become greater. In order to maintain their rapid development, they would need substantial resource investment. These two together probably consumed more than an entire team of Pokemon.

Pain and happiness! Fortunately, from what Aoki could see now, Aggron had not disappointed him, and he believed Tyranitar would not either. Looking at the Pokemon now dancing happily among the group of Tyranitars with their arms around each other, and the little Carbink standing on the arms of Tyranitar and Aggron while jumping excitedly, Aoki was quite satisfied with their bond.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Aoki scanned the complete data of Tyranitar's evolution.

Quasi-purple! Purple level! When he saw Tyranitar's complete data, Aoki looked at the streak of blue and purple colors and was speechless. In his two lifetimes, Aoki had never seen a Pokemon with this level of potential. Strictly speaking, a Pokemon that reached the purple level should possess the caliber of a Legendary. Quasi-purple was a color the system could not definitively categorize as dark blue or light purple, existing between the blue and purple tiers. There were always cases where a Pokemon exceeded its original tier but had not fully reached the next, resulting in this quasi-tier designation.

But regardless, quasi-purple was still a form of purple. At this moment, Tyranitar had reached the purple level. That was fundamentally different from the blue level. Immense potential! And after evolving, perhaps due to the abundant energy in its body, its level had increased by three. This was not unexpected by Aoki. With the aid of the two rocks and the Tyranitar tribe during its evolution, reaching this level was natural. Aoki even suspected Tyranitar could have progressed further but was limited by its own constraints, stopping at level 58. There might be another growth spurt later.

However, post-evolution, Tyranitar's typing became Rock and Dark. This was an indirect weakening. Fighting-type moves now dealt quadruple damage. It was also doubly weak to Ground, Bug, Steel, Water, Grass, and Fairy moves. Suddenly, it had a quadruple weakness and six double weaknesses. But considering Tyranitar's power and offensive potential, this vulnerability served as a balancing mechanism. After all, it was a pseudo-Legendary, not an actual Legendary. Otherwise, how would true Legendaries maintain their status?

As long as Tyranitar's strength improved further, Aoki believed it could hold its own against Legendaries of the same level—assuming they were lower-tier ones. However, Aoki and Tyranitar had an ace up their sleeve: Mega Evolution. Now that Tyranitar had evolved, Aoki could Mega Evolve it. That was where its limitless potential lay.

To Aoki's knowledge, only four pseudo-Legendaries could Mega Evolve at this point: Tyranitar, Metagross, Salamence, and Garchomp. Undoubtedly, these four had higher ceilings than other pseudo-Legendaries. Additionally, the small crimson orb Aoki had tossed during Tyranitar's evolution had vanished. He wondered if Tyranitar had gained any benefits from it. The possibility of reaching this tier might be tied to that orb.

Watching the Pokemon enjoying themselves, Aoki didn't interrupt. Though the aptitude potion's side effects were emerging, they didn't hinder Tyranitar's movements. It continued mingling with the others.

Aoki set up several barbecue grills nearby. Today was a celebration, so he treated all the Pokemon to a feast. He doubted the Tyranitar tribe had ever tasted such food. Fortunately, in Celebi's space, Aoki and his team had hunted plenty of game, storing it in his spatial gear. While it wouldn't fill every Tyranitar's stomach, letting them sample something new was possible.

A grand dinner began as Aoki lit the flames.

After dinner, Aoki took Tyranitar to sit atop a rocky outcrop overlooking the valley. The sky was hazy, yet the moonlight still seeped through. Tyranitar, having just evolved, sat beside him.

"Tyranitar, how do you feel?" Aoki asked softly, a faint smile on his face. Though Tyranitar had seemed joyful earlier, Aoki sensed buried sorrow and pain. These were the side effects of the talent potion and also the knowledge of the past—something only Aoki, as its Trainer, could alleviate. Otherwise... Mega Evolution might prove difficult.
