Chapter 875 - Chapter 1130 - Diancie Mega Evolution Stone

The Nibel Plateau, a vibrant sea of flowers blooming in a brilliant array of colors, stretched out under the calm sky with the newly transformed Diancie standing at its very center. The air itself seemed to hum with a newfound energy, a testament to the incredible event that had just transpired.

Far in the distance, on a windswept cliff overlooking the vast plateau, a majestic and singular Pokémon watched with an unwavering gaze. Its eyes, deep and colorful pools of ancient knowledge, seemed capable of bridging the long miles, observing every detail of the scene below. The great horns atop its head spread out like petal-covered antlers, their usual light blue hue now brilliantly adorned with a spectrum of shifting, rainbow colors. With all four limbs planted firmly on the ground, one front hoof pawed gently at the earth in a rhythmic, contemplative motion.

Xerneas!

The Life Pokémon was observing Diancie, having sensed the profound metamorphosis on the Nibel Plateau.

"Woo—"

A soft, whispering call escaped it, a sound meant for no ears but its own.

Then, a strange and potent energy, visible as a shimmering wave of light, flowed from Xerneas's body. It arched across the sky like a silent comet, its trajectory set unerringly for Diancie.

Aoki, who was in the midst of a quiet, tentative conversation with Diancie, suddenly flinched. His well-honed psychic powers tingled with a sudden surge of alien energy passing through the atmosphere. A spark of recognition flashed in his mind.

"This energy...is..." The thought formed, but he had no time to voice it.

The energy bolt was impossibly fast, a streak of pure life force shooting not at him, but towards the small, horn-like fragment that still floated near Diancie's head. It was over before any reaction was possible. The energy merged seamlessly with the horn, causing it to glow with an intense, warm light.

"Is it really her?" Aoki understood instantly, his eyes widening as he looked towards the distant cliffs. This was the unique energy signature of Xerneas. It was the same presence he had felt once before, during his encounter with Volcanion. So, when he had attempted to befriend the Steam Pokémon, had Xerneas been watching then, too? It seemed Diancie's transformation had drawn her direct attention. In fact, she must have been keeping a watchful eye on the small diamond ever since the moment she had gifted her fallen horn to Aoki.

Under the infusion of Xerneas's power, the horn began to change. It shimmered and condensed, its form shifting and solidifying until it slowly transformed into a perfect, gleaming sphere adorned with a distinctive pattern.

"A Mega Evolution Stone!" Aoki gasped, his shock palpable. What could Xerneas possibly mean by this?! He struggled to comprehend the legendary Pokémon's intentions. Diancie had just appeared, and now she was presenting him with the very key to unlocking her ultimate potential? Did Xerneas hope that Diancie would establish her kingdom of Carbink soon? But even if that was the goal, Aoki would not choose the Kalos region for such an endeavor. His gaze swept across the horizon, over the rolling mountains and rivers, but Xerneas remained hidden from view.

The newly formed Mega Evolution Stone drifted gently down into Aoki's open palm, feeling warm and strangely alive.

"Is it because they both can create life and control the resonance of life energy?" Aoki mused to himself. In the Pokémon world, aside from the creator, Arceus, the only beings who could wield the power of life itself were Xerneas, the god of life, and now, Diancie. The ability to create diamonds from nothing was a power unique to Diancie, a form of creation in its own right.

A sudden idea struck him. The Fairy-type energy in the Pokémon world had only been officially recognized relatively recently and was most concentrated in the Kalos region. Other regions had far thinner concentrations of this mystical energy. If Diancie could create a significant number of Carbink, would the overall Fairy energy in the world increase? It was a fascinating, if unproven, theory. Yet these were all just speculations; he could not truly guess the thoughts of a being as ancient as Xerneas.

Looking at the Mega Stone in his hand, Aoki felt a conflict. Should he try to use it? The bond between him and Diancie was still new, untested; Mega Evolution required a deep, mutual trust that they had not yet had time to fully forge.

Nearby, Magearna, having witnessed the entire transformation, finally ended its graceful, celebratory dance. It approached Diancie cautiously, offering a friendly, mechanical chirp of greeting. Sensing a familiar warmth from the Soul Heart Pokémon—after all, the life energy that had fueled her final transformation had flowed from Magearna's own soul—Diancie felt an immediate kinship. She smiled and stretched out her hands. With a gentle pulse of her power, a beautiful pink crystal diamond materialized in her palms, which she then offered to Magearna.

Seeing the exquisite gem, Magearna's eyes lit up with delight, but it hesitated, unsure if it should accept such a generous and precious gift. Diancie, understanding her new friend's hesitation, simply smiled brighter and pressed the diamond firmly into Magearna's arms. Instantly, Magearna's expression shifted to one of pure, captivated joy, clutching the gift tightly. No one, it seemed, could resist the allure of such a perfectly formed pink diamond.

As if to reciprocate, Magearna extended its right hand. With a soft bang, a beautiful, fresh bouquet of flowers appeared in a puff of scented smoke. Diancie clapped her hands together in delight, taking one of the flowers and carefully placing it atop her head like a crown. In that moment, the two Pokémon solidified a fast and heartfelt friendship.

Aoki watched from the side, a look of mild surprise on his face as he saw how quickly Diancie and Magearna had bonded. It was, as always, astonishing how quickly connections between girls could form. But the interaction gave him the moment he needed to finally focus and scan Diancie's data with his Pokédex.

Light purple! This was the most dramatic and significant improvement in potential Aoki had ever witnessed following a physical transformation. It was a leap from Light Blue straight to Light Purple, a qualitative change so profound it was almost unbelievable. The jump to Level 50 seemed almost trivial in comparison.

"Diancie, can you feel the diamonds you create now? Can you sustain them?" Aoki asked, recalling that an untrained Diancie's creations, while beautiful, were often ephemeral, fading away after a short time.

"Yes! I can sense them. They feel… solid," Diancie nodded, her voice firm with newfound confidence.

Aoki was pleasantly surprised. "Then, can you produce these diamonds in large quantities?"

Diancie paused, a look of deep concentration crossing her features as she considered the request. She seemed uncertain, testing the limits of her own power. "I will try!"

She stretched out her hands once more, and the air around her began to glitter. Tiny specks of pink light appeared, growing rapidly into countless crystal diamonds of various sizes. They swirled around her, faster and faster, forming a magnificent, glittering tornado of gems—a breathtaking display of her signature move, Diamond Storm.

Seeing the sudden appearance of so many "delicious" diamonds, Tyranitar and Aggron, who had been watching with keen interest, could no longer contain their excitement. As the skill concluded, a large pile of pink crystal diamonds lay scattered across the ground, shimmering in the sunlight. They were crystal clear and came in all shapes and sizes.

Tyranitar and Aggron lumbered forward, each eagerly snatching up a large diamond and popping it into their mouths. There was a comical moment of confusion as they bit down, only to find their jaws closing on nothingness. Then, before their disappointed eyes, the entire pile of pink diamonds began to dissolve, turning into a fine, sparkling powder that drifted away on the breeze before vanishing entirely.

Seeing this, Aoki nodded thoughtfully. "It's still a little bit short. The permanence isn't quite there yet."

Seeing the crestfallen expressions on Tyranitar and Aggron's faces, Diancie focused once again. This time, she poured more concentration into the act, her body glowing faintly. After a moment, two perfectly formed, fist-sized pink crystal diamonds appeared in her hands. She presented one to each of the disappointed Pokémon.

Hesitant but hopeful, Tyranitar and Aggron took the new diamonds. They looked at each other, then tossed the gems into their mouths.

CRACK——

The satisfying sound of something solid being crunched echoed clearly. Aoki's eyes lit up with triumphant understanding. This time, they were real.
