War is a terrifying monster.
Under the intimidation of this monster, the civilians in the Six Border Cities have basically fled without a trace.
After nearly six or seven prayer times of continuous, precise bombardment, the entire border defense essentially lost everything that could be called fortifications.
City walls, drawbridges, moats, arrow towers, trap mage towers, all were razed to the ground.
After the elves stopped shooting, all the surviving First Empire soldiers made the same choice.
Retreat!
They fled the city without hesitation, if that pile of ruins could still be called a city.
What puzzled them was that the elves did not launch a further invasion.
In other words, after the bombardment, they had no desire to enter these human cities.
This gave the hasty fleeing prince something new to think about.
Could it be that these elves simply can't leave the forest?
Or, if they leave the forest, their combat effectiveness will be weakened?
